'70 to '72 for sure. Says so in the brochure. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/GM Trucks and Vans/1970_Trucks-Vans/1970_Chevrolet_Blazer/1970 Chevy Blazer-02.html http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/GM Trucks and Vans/1971_Trucks-Vans/1971_Chevrolet_Blazer_Brochure/1971 Chevy Blazer-03.html mentioned in the "still more" paragraph on the bottom right, http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/GM Trucks and Vans/1972_Trucks_and_Vans/1972_Chevrolet_Blazer_Brochure/1972 Chevy Blazer-06.html

David, just decant the paint from the can into a bottle and let it gas out for a while. It's probably the propellent in the can making the problems. Most times when I do this I add a little thinner for airbrushing. Maybe 10%, maybe less. Just try spraying it first though, it might be just right without adding any extra thinner.

Can-Con replied to Dpate's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I just compared the two kits. They're exactly the same size. -
Model Prices vs. Inflation
Can-Con replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually, yea, they've been printing them for decades. I had one back in the '80s. I believe this is the latest issue -
I have one of these ones. I don't use it much. It is great for small stuff but it generally runs out of power before I can paint a car body and clean it out too. BUT, it will work fine with the charging cord plugged in. Unfortunately the cord is a USB type so if I don't want to plug it into my computer for charging I have to use the charger for my phone. Works fine that way also though. It could make a good brush for someone just starting airbrushing as it is a lot cheaper than a regular brush and compressor but it is kinda bulky and mine has a fine needle in it. A beginner should probably start out with a medium needle. BTW, that's not a tank on the bottom, it's actually a mini compressor. No way to adjust the air output on mine but it does flow about the right amount to do what we would be using it for.

Revell 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302.....1/25 scale.
Can-Con replied to Dragonhawk1066's topic in Model Cars
Looks great. I was going to do mine in yellow but that sure looks great. Might have to rethink my plans. ? BTW, for those who don't know, the '69 Boss 302 was only available from Ford in 4 colors,, Bright Yellow Calypso Coral Wimbledon White and Acapulco blue. I'm sure most of you guys already know this but I thought I'd add it for those who don't know. ? -
To err is human? Some are uncorrectable.

The word wasn't spelled "c. r. a. p." was it? Yea, that's an odd one to be censored as it usually means garbage or junk but , of cores, it's also fecal matter. -
So sweeet !! ???

"Garnet Red" 1991 454-SS Pickup
Can-Con replied to 1972coronet's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This is what I'm talking about, with the way the velour catches the light on the contours of the seats. It has the same look as metallic paint with flat clear over it. But whatever looks good to the builder, right. -
My "X" was a big April Wine fan. Had every album they did on cassette including both versions [regular and very rare recalled version] of Myles Goodwin's solo album. and yes, Aldo Nova's "Fantasy" Classis '80s Quebec culture. Only song I know of specifically about hookers and coke. ?

Actually, I use metallic paint with a coat of flat clear to simulate upholstery material all the time. -
Exactly. Casey was just trying to be helpful. He does come off badly sometimes but he means well. ?

I'm calling BS on that. If you didn't care and didn't want comments you wouldn't be making posts anywhere, let alone on here. You might know exactly what's in the box but other people who see the post on here may not know. This is one way they learn of this stuff, by reading comments about kits. I don't think it's taking anything away from you that Casey commented that the kit had issues. That particular box isn't seen very often any more and it might be helpful to someone considering buying one to know about it. If you don't want people responding to your posts maybe just put a line in your signature saying so, that way they'd know it's not welcome with you. You don't have to respond to this post, in fact I'd prefer that you didn't.

That seems kinda harsh. Casey probably figured , like most people, you didn't know about the chopped top and was just trying to warn you about it. Yes, you did mention you were building your own version of the car but no where did you say it needed the chopped top. also if the know it alls didn't flex the knowledge, how would the know nothings learn anything? ?

Of cores, being obscure kinda depends on where you're at. FM is pretty well known up here as their video for "Just Like You" was on pretty heavy rotation on Muchmusic [Canadian version of MTV] when it was released. I still have my cassette copy of their album "Tonight", which is excellent. Actually, it's pretty representative of the Canadian new wave sound of the late '70s and early '80s. I'd suggest you also check out The Spoons "Areas and Symphonies", Blue Peter "The Falling" and Strange Advance "Worlds Away". These albums also have somewhat of a new wave/science fiction theme to them.

You're the first person I've ever seen who actually liked that Kustom Kolor paint. I've never has any as I've always used the real HOK paint it was supposed to be copying but I know a lot of guys had real problems with the quality of the stuff and it ended up being discontinued because of it. Looks like you got it to work for you though. that candy blue Merc looks great, as do the others too.

I'm hoping you're right about the '69 as it's the only one I'm missing between '63 and the end of the run. But, realistically, we probably would have at least heard rumors of it being reissued if it was still a workable tool. But, hey, maybe there's enough left to make it viable to do the same thing with it as they did with the Nova wagon. Who knows? ?
-
Nope. It was a mid-year change. The '77 Ventura was turned into the '77 Nova when the run of Pontiacs was done. That's why both '77s are so rare.

Pegasus Aluminum Sleeves
Can-Con replied to RestoModGuy's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I haven't seen the 19" sleeves sold anywhere for years. Same goes for their nice 19" Michelin Pilot tires. -
The '69 maybe. The '68 would have been modified into the '69. The chassis plate is probably the one under the '65 convertible. Thing is, why would they have modified the chassis plate from the '69 to fit the '65 [different wheelbases] if the '69 was intact? There's nothing special about a '65 to make it more desirable than a '69. Maybe less desirable because it's a convertible and the '69 is a sedan. That said, I don't know of anything that was based on the '69 tooling that was issued after it.
-
It's a Dart, but looks more like a '66 to me. A '62 would have been a full size car.

Turned out great Harry.
