Hold on there Harry, I never said anything about posting from my computer, I have had a paid fotki site for almost 15 years now. Are you saying that when I copy it from my fotki site and past it into the body of the message it's automatically on your server instead? IF so, please tell all of us, in simple language how to insert pics into our messages because since the last site makeover, this is the only method that works for me.

Bill Geary explained it to me most clearly. Right klik on your pic, Select "copy image" from the menu that appears, and past it into the body of your post [Cntrl +V]

Not really sure of which ones you mean but if you mean the factory stock 5 slot wheels like on the S&H Torino but with 4 lugs, the MPC Pinto wagon should have a set when it's reissued. IIRC. A picture of the ones you want [or link to a pic] would help a lot.

If they do cast the seat I'd hope they'd correct it. The backs of those 1/1 truck seats were pretty square. The one in the kit is very narrow at the top, Looks like it'd need 3 or 4 scale inches added at the top on both sides. Also, the only wheel backs in the kit are for the 1/20 tires and won't fit 1/25 tires. I tried modifying them but still not a good solution.

Very nice. Some really clean, crisp work on that one.

The Lindberg '67 442 has decals in it like what you're looking for. BTW, the emblems on the real cars were painted with more of a semi gloss paint, almost flat and definitly not transparent. I'd think a thinned solid paint in the appropriate colors would look better.

I was just reading up on those. I didn't know they were a real thing and not just something AMT made up until last year. Seems they were built by Herb Adam's company called "VSE" and it looks like the kit is supposed to be a "Stage 1" street car but they also built full-on race cars. Thge stock "wheels" in that kit are supposed to be the "spinner" hubcap. ["wheel cover" for those so inclined] They were not chrome plated but made from stamped stainless steel. They look OK chrome but if you want to tone it down I'd suggest hitting them with a light coat of Testors semi-gloss clear laquer.

I'll have to have my wife check to see how much first class with tracking would be to send a regular model size box, properly packaged from here to California when she goes back to work later in the week. She works at a Canada Post outlet in a drugstore. [same work as an "official" Canada Post employee but for 1/2 the pay, don't get me started on that one ] I tried putting the wheels in a bubble envelope and sending them like that but the envelope with contents was too thick to go through the slot in the template they use at the post office. So I put them in a little box.

Sorry, not quite That was one of the first things I tried when the ElCamino kit first came out. It's a bit too wide. Someone could try cutting the front of the '69 body and spreading it a little to fit the '68 part. Don't know if it would be noticeable or not though. You might also have to widen the hood a bit or maybe use the '68 hood. Dosen't help with the back bumper and tailights or interior , of coarse. Someone should try it.

If you think that's bad try being Canadian, Australian, British or the like. If I do a trade with someone in the States it would cost anywhere between 10 to 20 bucks Canadian,, even more if you need a tracking # That's why I very rarely do traded on the board. Not that I wouldn't like to but sometimes it can cost almost as much as just buying the kit locally. Heck, last time I sent someone on the board here just a set of 1/25 wheels it cost over 12 bucks.

Ya know, I just had a wild idea. If that extra 2 millimetres is that important but Snake wanted to use the wheels he could just sand 1 millimetre off the outside edge of the rim. There's plenty of plastic there to work with. Then it would be close to 15" in scale.

Well Bill,, I guess you bother because you love us and just want the best for us. but I see you changed your reply while I was cutting my wheels off the sprue and measuring them. Mine measure out to about 17.5 mm. All four of mine are the same size. They fit perfectly in the whitewall inserts for the tires provided.

Snake, I found a copy of the instructions on the DPMCC site that are copyright 1965. They have the same mags featured in that issue of the kit. They call them "American racing wheels" on the sheet. So, I'd have to say, yes , they were correct for the mid '60s time period. I think we're all talking about different wheels here. The mag wheels in my copy of the Revell '29 rat rod pickup look like early narrow torque thrusts.

They look just like the mags that were originally in the kit when it was first made back in the '60s so I'd think they'd be correct for that time period.
