Artists that should be in the Rock n' Roll Hall of fame.

Dan, my biggest regret is not going to see Doug & the Slugs the last time they were here in Fredericton before Doug drank himself to death. I was right outside the door of the club that night and didn't go in. ? -
What kit was it, David?
-
You guys are really making me want to dig into the AMT kit. I thought I had 2 copies but it seems I only have the one. Maybe a community build like with the '29 pickups??

Then I've been under a rock since I was 3. Now, you say "Another on I just learned", does that mean you had never heard of them and had been living under a rock too? BUT, do you know 5440, Big Sugar, Spirit of the West, Saga, Strange Advance, Skinny Puppy, Wide Mouth Mason, Theory of a Deadman, Spoons, The Sheepdogs, The Partland Brothers, Pukka Orchestra, Prozzak, Moxy Fruvous, , , ,Killer Dwarfs??? , , I could name hundreds. These were all Canadian bands that got considerable airplay on the radio and/or Muchmusic when they were popular and many of them are still known and touring. I bet almost no one on this forum outside of the Canadian Content have ever heard of most of them. I didn't choose the handle "Can-Con" out of thin air, it literally is the contraction for "Canadian Content" in the Canadian media. -

History of Revell's Squarebody Pickup kits

Most likely just decals but I'd really like to see them stick a set of stock bumpers and a proper front suspension in the box. ? , , and fill in that hole in the roof !! ? -

I agree Gary, especially on some of Mike C.s bands that I've never heard of before and I've listened to some pretty eclectic music. , , "Big Star"? "Buffalo Tom"??? never heard of them and I bet most people reading this thread hasn't either. This is NOT an attack on Mike's musical preferences, just pointing out bands no one has heard of don't end up in the hall of fame. Heck, look how long it took to get Rush in there, I doubt Strange Advance or Doug & The Slugs will be nominated, let alone inducted. -
The blown Volare is almost done so I started to restore this '67 Riviera annual while waiting for paint and glue to dry. I'm going to keep it stock, after all, you don't come across a '67 annual everyday. This particular kit seems to be kinda hard to find so,, Plans are for dark teal blue paint and a set of re-chromes Buick rally wheels on thin whitewalls. I will use some MCG photoetch scripts on the fenders though. There was a bit of damage to repair where the custom "vinyl 1/2 top" was attached but other then that it seems pretty good.

Revell 1956 Chevrolet front bumper issue
Can-Con replied to Kenmojr's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Best thing to go would compare the Nomad part with the sedan part Ken. Like Greg said, it was corrected when the sedan was issued. All of those had the correction and all the Nomads after that also got the correction. I'm pretty sure the Nomad you listed was the last issue so would have the correction. -
No, not the whole chassis. It did share the hotrod Chevy engine and some of the suspension parts like the axles and wheels but didn't share the main frame etc. I should add, that was only the hot rod parts that were shared between the kits, not any of the stock parts.

I dunno guys, that Aurora kit just looks "odd" to me. The back window and grille are the worst offenders. Just can't get around them. The front fender openings look off too.
-
From the pics I've seen of built examples of that kit, despite everyone clamoring for one, I thought it looked as bad or worse then the '70s AMT version.
-
Very nice. Even though the '71 is pretty common now you never see a '70. Super job detail painting those wheel covers.

OK, that looks fantastic. I have one of their Toyota Cerumo Exiv kits. I started it but the decals disintegrated on use. I don't think it's age that gave you problems with your decals. My kit was new when I started it around 20 years ago. -

There's no date on the article but I found this,, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 class, with seven inductees making the final cut as performers: Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine, and the Spinners. Half of the nominees were excluded (Iron Maiden, Joy Division, New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, the White Stripes, and Warren Zevon) and can try again as early as next year https://www.vulture.com/2023/05/rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-2023-inductees.html#:~:text=The Rock and Roll Hall, the Machine%2C and the Spinners. -
Revell 1956 Chevrolet front bumper issue
Can-Con replied to Kenmojr's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Pretty surre you don't have to worry about it Ken. IIRC, the problem, too wide header between the bumper and body, was corrected before those were issued. -
I'm very surprised to hear that considering I don't have any yet. But it's not for lack of trying. ?
-
Welll,,,I could tell and I'm sure a bunch of other people on here could too. Compared to the kit body, the roof of the actual car has much more curve to the top of it over all the windows. not as blocky, much more graceful. Note that these cars have stock bodies, not modified.

I think he's right, Snake. It doesn't look malignant to me.
-
Very true Robert, but it dosen't say it on the new box. I only have the 2 in 1 issue myself. They all seem to have the same engine/tranny assembly. All the chassis and engine seems to have come directly from this kit,,
-
Exactly how I feel about it too.

So, Snake, is that how old you are or "your favorite summer" [Brian Adams reference there if you know the story of the song] ? Hope you and Mrs. Snake have a great day !! ? ?✨???
