Missing part: How can I replace it?
Can-Con replied to conchan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How about just asking in the wanted section if anyone has a shifter from an AMT or Revell '85 Mustang? AMT,, -
Just super ! The wheels look great. Did you thin down the spokes somehow?

Any Tips On Using Inkjet Decal Paper?
Can-Con replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I dunno. Any ideas on what's going on with it Peter? -
I just checked some old Hot Rod Magazines. Earliest ad I found [with a quick look] was for Firestone with the upside down lettering like in some AMT kits in an August '68 issue. Also see an ad for Goodyears in mid '69. The brochures for '68 Shelby Mustangs also show them wearing Goodyear white letter tires so they were available in at least late '68.

Friendly loveable Squirrels..
Can-Con replied to A modeler named mike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Love the friendly, loveable squirrels. My town is positively polluted with them. I can look out any of my windows and see one pretty well any time I like. What I find most amusing is when they get in the garage and knock stuff over, usually resulting in a new dent in the Trans Am ,,, positively adorable. -
Any Tips On Using Inkjet Decal Paper?
Can-Con replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
What kind of printer do you have? Inkjet or laser? Sounds like you're trying to use ink jet paper in a laser printer. There's specific paper to be used with either the ink jet or laser printers. You need to use the one made for the printer you're using. I'd say that's the main reason you've had problems with them. -
Those that were only made once
Can-Con replied to T-Ray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd put money on that being reissued [cloned] in the next couple years. -
Got a couple , ,

Restomod '57 Chevy Cameo
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I think I have the body ready for paint. I'll need to touch up the BIN primer and give it a couple coats of gold lacquer to tell for sure. Got a lot done on the engine too,, -
The Future of Revell...for 2024 at least.
Can-Con replied to niteowl7710's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'm pretty sure they still can. Last time it was reissued was 2010 and was available for several years after so still on the shelves until not that long ago. But, Yea, count me in for a Typhoon. My cousin was with a company that brought mini-trucks over from Japan for a while. This is a little something they retrieved from the far east. [hence the marker lights on the fenders] It was lowered and had some other mods done including a bigger turbo, went like stink. I would have bought it for myself if I could have swung it at the time but had just bought the house so the funds just weren't there. -
My wife's been plagued with "night visits" since we bought this house. Wakes up screaming and swears something was in the room. It rushed her once while in bed and one afternoon she felt a hand on her shoulder while she was at the kitchen sink, I was on the other side of the room at the time. The last incident, she felt something on her in the bed. A black "shadow" kinda thing. It got close to her face , , she actually BIT IT !! ? Still blows my mind that she did that. She hasn't seen it since. I, on the other hand have never seen anything.

Keith, you should be able to easily straiten out that hood by holding it under hot running tap water, bending it back to shape and cooling it in ice water. Might take a few attempts to get it to stay but it does work. Resin is a lot easier to work with for this then kit plastic as the plastic will shrink when it warps but the resin doesn't.

One of the sets of strips not shown in my pic is white. They did some white, black and aqua strips for me also but on another sheet not shown in my pic above.
-
Steve, I also recommend STS. I had them do up some Porsche 911 rocker stripes with the lettering a few months ago and they came out great. Didn't cost near what I thought it would either.

Speaking of the decals in the original kit, the "Warlock" tail gate decal was too big to fit the panel on the gate. I don't know if that's true with the original decals or just the recreated sheet I got from Gooche but I had actually made the panel larger to fit the decal on mine. It was still a touch big but close enough for me to live with. Hopefully, if it was like that on the original decals , round2 would check to make sure they're not too big this time.

No, it said on the sheet "bonus hood decal" or something like that. Big hood decals were the hot ticket at the time and the custom MPC one very much looked like it could have been the real thing.

If they did a '67/'68 it would be a custom, pretty cool though. GM didn't start selling Blazers until '69.

RK-2 Sunrise Orange according to the list of available colors on the brochure.

Not at all the same. The Midnight Express was very similar to the LRT but with a hi output 400 instead of the 360,IIRC and there were only about 200 made. The Warlock was a much more common package available with any engine including the slant 6 and in 2WD and 4X4 drivetrain and in more colors.

AMT 1960 3-in-1 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck
Can-Con replied to rekcirb13's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Unfortunately, no. The stock '53 engine is a flat head. -
Carl, they did. In '77 they came in black metallic, green metallic and bright red. In '78 they added citron green metallic and sunrise orange. I think the '78 black was a solid, not metallic like '77 but I'm not sure.

No, but as I've already built one, I doubt I'll be building another. But I am glad to see it for everyone else who would want one.
