  1. Love it.
  2. Actually, Mike, I'm pulling your leg. Just want to see how many people fall for it. ?
  3. Here in Canada, it's illegal to cut maple trees without a special permit from the federal government, being a national symbol and all. It would be similar to an American shooting a Bald Eagle. ?
  4. You don't see a lot of car kits in 1/48 scale, Bill.?
  5. Mine are the original 1/25 AMT VW Rabbits. Have built two so far and still have two in their boxes. I don't know why I like the kit so much, it's kinda crappy, poor fit etc. but I do.
  6. Sorry, Rich, no. I don't have an annual so I can't compare them.
  7. Well, IF you can get a hold of one of the Revell grilles you could carefully sand or trim off as much of the "SS" as you can and after painting the grille section black just attach the photoetch piece on top kinda like I did with this Malibu.
  8. The Revell standard '67 grille does indeed have SS in it too. AFAIK, only the AMT '67 from around the '80s/'90s had the standard grille with the regular Camaro emblem like in your pic. Both Revell kits are SS and the AMT annual's stock grille was the R/S grille.
  9. Thanks, IIRC, I went around the trim edges and the edges of the vinyl section with the back edge of an x-acto knife to make a slight trough separating the sections. painted the vinyl [airbrush] and foiled the stainless trim around it. Worked out pretty good. I'm assuming you mean this one,,
  10. Yes, the whole AMT '68 annual line had great artwork.
  11. Yup, just a little heat from a lighter does it for me for over 40 years now. I don't smoke but a lighter comes in handy and keep one on my work area. Also useful when you need a piece of stretched sprue.
  12. Looks good to me Tom, and I'm pretty picky on those old '76s as I used to own an almost fully equipped [just missing the power seat] '76 Landau, burgundy/burgundy with black vinyl on the back of the roof which I replaced with silver when I was re-doing the car. Loved that car, great for going to the drive-in with the fully reclining passenger seat. ? Kudos on doing the windshield pillars properly, most builds I see of them leave the body color strip on the pillar as on the box art, which is wrong.
  13. Gareth I sprayed the front bumper on this Volare almost 3 months ago and I can assure you it still looks as it does in this pic right now. It can take regular handling but needs a long time to dry. I'd suggest not handling it for at least a week, more would be better. This may seem a long time but it's similar to what I experience in drying time to Alclad's gloss black basecoat enamel.
  14. Charlie, can you post a pic of the headlights you need? I, or someone else might have something you could use.
  15. Ken, Scott at Elm City Hobbies, here in Fredericton carries some stuff and can sometimes order other stuff you might need. He doesn't get as much from the US now as before the coof as he doesn't do a border run once a week like he used to but it doesn't hurt to ask.
  16. If you don't want the white stripes, just put them on toward the back, just like we used to do with the real thing. ?
  17. Got the suspension glued down solid, this is the final stance. Paintwork is coming along too.
  18. I hope they do another issue with regular chrome plating.
  19. Thought this was a "top 5" list, Ron, not a country song.?
  20. Looks good so far, Brian. BTW, you do know this is the 45 year old Monogram kit, right?
  21. They do look great. I tried getting the ones I used on my '29 pickup last year to look better with those same caps and changing the outer face of the rims but I didn't even think of getting them closer together or opening up the closed off areas. Better but not as good as yours look by far.
