Myles was from Woodstock N.B. About an hours drive from here. A buddy of mine was friends with the members of the band. -
AMT/MPC 1969 Dodge Charger Grill Inserts?
Can-Con replied to Joe Handley's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Harts Parts resins has them. https://hartspartsresin.com/product/mpc-69-charger-grill-inserts/ The original MPC inserts weren't really all that accurate anyway though. They just have vertical ribs, not the small rectangles like the real thing. -
Here's a few pics I took when my uncle was restoring hos '66 sedan. Might be helpful. If you look close you can see there's a crease around the rear window about the same width as the stainless trim and that the seam from the glass to the trunk lid starts right at the corner of the glass. Ni ce work so far. Already more accurate then the resin sedan I bought years ago from MCW.

AMT 1961 Ford Galaxie hardtop, any news?
Can-Con replied to PintoKING's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I want to build that gold custom. I've even seriously thought about getting one of the cheap resin copies and a set of the original custom parts to do it. That car just looks SOooo cool to me. ? I'd also add that I don't buy that George Bareass did the customising on that car for a minute. Too clean. That looks more like something that Winfield or the Alexander Bros. would do. -
Peter, I was just goofing around, hence the winky face. ? But, I do know what you mean. I've had a few paintjobs as well as some resin pours ruined because of humidity.

Good luck with the build Jimmy. That's one of my favorite TD kits. Love the box art. As for wheels, I'd also look at the ones in the "Dragon Wagon" re=released a few years ago as the "Circus Wagon". They look ,if not identical, pretty close to me. Here's a pic form "show rod rally" website, if you like I can take a pic of the wheels in my unbuilt example also. I want to add, I did not build this, Don't want anyone thinking I'm trying to take credit for someone else's work.

Sorry to hear that Roy. Ya never know, people come and go. He might even come back under a different screen name, who knows, I did once.

Um, if you guys hover your cursors over Jay's avatar, you'll see he hasn't been here in almost a year. I don't think I'd hold out much chance on getting an update. ?

MPC Dodge 'Country' Charger Open Box Review
Can-Con replied to hpiguy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Put a set of Magnum 500s in there, fix the wheel openings, get the licencing and BANG, TV tie-in baby. ? Instead of "Southern Charger", this one would be "Westen Charger". ? -
Peter, I can guarente you I live more north and more east then you do, and I don't even know where in the States you live. ?

Rich, IIRC you said you didn't want to get another Camaro kit just for the console but ,, Don't know if you're aware but the Revell '69 convertibles have the deluxe interior, IIRC, the deluxe door panels are the same in '68 and '69? I have this version of the kit, just checked it and it has them along with the rest of the pace car parts.

My guess would be the weather, Jon. Cooler air holds more humidity and that can be a factor. I'd wait for drier weather. Humidity is much more of a factor with these things then just temperature. The drier the better.

Another Foose truck with my twist
Can-Con replied to Patrick J's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Excellent build. I like your colors on the interior better than the original trucks. -
Restomod '57 Chevy Cameo
Can-Con replied to Can-Con's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Paint went south on me so I decided to make some alterations I should have to start with before I repaint it. First, I attached the filler pieces to the inner fenders and fill the seams. They're separate pieces so you can get the interior bucket in easily. I also glued the fire wall to the interior bucket and cut it off again back some on the bucket's side walls. This allows me to attach the firewall and then put in the interior. All this just to get rid of those seams on the inner fenders. I also addressed the fit of the windshield. It didn't fit too bad on my kit but it could be better and I also wanted to add the peak above the glass that's so prominent on the real trucks. I simply glued a strip of thin sheet across the top of the opening and another strip across the bottom for the glass to but up against. After filing the bottom back corners of the glass and the opening in the same area bit it fit a bit more snugly. Then I trimmed the strip I put across the top and tried the fit. Not perfect but a bit better and the top lip is now there -
That's possible of corse, David. I just checked an unbuilt kit but I don't see any difference in the bezels, they both look identical to me. Tried them in the body and swapped them back and forth a couple times too and still can't see what's going on with them. I have seen other built examples of the kit showing the same thing though.

No talk about the Round2 1971 Dodge Demon ?
Can-Con replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yea. It's the only thing that disappoints me in the kit as MPC always had excellent Cragars back then but then again, I don't think the original had any optional wheels at all. Certainly won't stop me from buying the kit though. Plus I have a variety of Cragars to choose from and just stocked up on Smooth-On resin and rubber. ? -

Can-Con replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Nice kit, I'm looking forward to it. But what do you guys think of those optional "Cragar S/S" 5 spoke wheels? -
Something about those Revell kits to look out for is the placement of the tail lights. They go in fine and fit great but they're not strait. I never noticed on mine until I looked at the pics. Both side light assemblies look exactly the same. but as you can see in the pics, they look higher on the outer ends then in the center.

I used to watch that. Best tranquilizer I've ever found. I'd usually be asleep by the second commercial. ? -
