  1. Scalemates info is incomplete. MPC issues Elcamino annuals every year from '78 through '82. An'80 GMC Caballero "El Diablo" was issued as well. It is a bit difficult to keep track of the MPC annuals in this era as they stopped putting the year on the kit and instead named them ["Night Moves" "Branding Iron" "Red Light Bandit"] in an attempt to keep the kits from being viewed as "last years" kit. Plus of corse, the "86 SS" update that was done in the early '90s
  2. Yup. Here's a page from the AMT Nova's instruction sheet. Note the part # on the Cragars.
  3. I bet you have the California Wheels reissue of the Elcamino, right? It has the wheels thrown in that originally came in the wagon,, along with a few other parts that are on the tree with them. SO, it actually has a total of 6 door handles in the kit. I'd say those Cragars are from the AMT stock '66 Nova.

    1966 VW bug

    Love it, beautiful build. ?
  5. That's pretty wild Mike. ?
  6. IIRC, it's supposed to be a 426 wedge. It was the current hot engine when the kit was first done back in the early '60s.
  7. I agree, over 300 bucks is insane for an old Plymouth annual re-release. I'd never pay that either. Good thing they don't really go for that. There's 3 unbuilt on e-bay now. two are about $120 and the third is about $80. You could buy about 3 current kits or one of those. I guess it all depends on how bad you really want it, right. ? I will tell you a secret though, there's very few modellers who can build perfection. I've been doing this for about 50 years now and I know I sure can't do it. Don't worry about perfection or pining for a reissue that might never happen. Get what you want and built it while you can because you never know what might happen in the future.?
  8. molded in clear and replaced the window.
  9. Nice,, clean work. ?
  10. What's the paint you're using, Lee ? I'll need some when I do this car.
  11. Tamiya racing white maybe?
  12. Sitting in Easy Off for the last week didn't do much to take the first coat of dark blue off it so I thought I'd try rubbing alcohol. Started rubbing with paper towel wetted with 99% isopropyl alcohol and it rubbed right off. No idea what it was though. Must have been some kind of craft paint. Anyway, turns out the parts are in better shape then I expected with just minor glue rash in a couple spots. I have a kinda glue bomb version of the cabriolet that doesn't have the wells for the spare tires in the fender unit, just a couple small holes for exhaust pipes to go through. I'm gonna use that. I really don't want the fender mount spares on this build.
  13. 1 is the custom Caddy cap in the AMT '64 Mercury 2 is AMT '57 Thunderbird 3 is AMT '65 Chevelle/Elcamino
  14. Parts is parts. Doesn't matter if they came in a model box or 3-D printer.
  15. They look like the ones in the AMT '49 Mercury kits to me.
  16. I thought I had seen those in a Monogram kit but couldn't find pics of one yesterday.
  17. Charles may be a little confused but, , , What's wrong with the engines in the AMT Gremlin and Matadors? I thought they look pretty good.
  18. If they do put a flat hood in it. I'd say it will make a lot of people happy.
  19. Looks great Tim Too bad that MPC went with the inaccurate pics in the brochure instead of getting the windshield frame and boot right. I always thought it was odd that GM let those mistakes pass.
  20. Most likely. Only Monogram and a hand full of Japanese companies did a 2nd gen Camaro in 1/24. Wonder if it will have the flat hood like the car on the show. That didn't have a Z-28 hood.
  21. From the pics I've seen, they're keystone Rogues. Note the strait sides of the spokes, not notched like the Klassics.
  22. No worries David. A friend has offered a good pair of doors. ?
  23. No worries, a friend has offered a set. ?
  24. Like Mark B. said above, it's in the old Revell '55 Chevy with the opening hood, doors and trunk.
