  2. so cool... Ive been watching all along... very nice work!
  3. tim... you are a crazy man... but man you do nice work, that looks amazing.. excited to see more!
  4. Had an outstanding international trade with Doug! Thanks again!
  5. thats one beautiful model... great work!
  6. Thank you for the compliment Tim! Somehow/Someway I managed to take home best of show at the NNL... Im pretty sure I floated out of there, and my feet still havent touched the ground. I was in total shock... with the quality of work that was there, it really caught me off guard. I want to hit up GSL someday as well...thinking maybe here in the next couple years... just take all my stuff and head out there. I would love to see this car in person, it looks so good in photos.. I can only imagine.
  7. Man, outstanding! I love what you guys do with these. Very very impressive work.
  8. Wait I missed you there? bummer! It would have been nice to actually meet. ... also this entire thing is just off the charts cool! That mockup is just mindblowing
  9. Agreed! I kept going " hey did you see this? wait, its another model from the guys from finland" they were all absolutely beautiful. I love the custom photo-etched bits, the window tinting, and overall super clean work... I definitely picked up some tips and ideas just from looking at them. This show is absolutely insane, Bill I missed talking with you... it was a whirlwind. The amount of quality models on display this year was amazing, I would venture to say that everything I saw would be a 1st place contest winner at a local show... no slouches in the entire bunch. (excited to hear what the actual numbers were.. guessing 2000models? maybe? ) Last year was my first time attending, and I was so overwhelmed, this year I knew what I was getting into and was able to truly enjoy it. A great chance to meet people in person, and truly enjoy a "model family reunion". Thank you to everyone that makes this possible.
  10. Oh no! Very sad news indeed, I met Blair last year at east.... Ive always been impressed with his models.... Bless his family and friends.
  11. Jim this is awesome! I love it.. creativity at its best!
  12. Personally i like looking at the 1:1 scale design guys: ragledesign, eblackdesign, allison_design ideas for days. For model stuff : jevries, visionone24, scaledworld I'm: impalow66 I tend to post stuff on there before I post it here... just cause of ease.
  13. thank you all! yeah i did! Thank you! its pretty neat cause you can actually see into the carbs.
  14. Finally this one is in the books... a little less than a year in the making but just in time for NNL East. The build log is here: Basically its the Pony Express Pinto Wagon Kit with the Morgan Automotive Details 71 Resin Body.... with a ton of scratch-building, alclad and nailpolsh. Thanks for looking!
  15. We made the last minute decision to head on over! It will be Andy (exesivefire) my dad and I... Looking forward to seeing some models and doing some shopping. See everyone there!
  16. Thanks and Same here! Thanks joe! Those little brass nuts are photoetched ones from Alliance Modelworks they have 3 packs... bolt heads, screwheads and nuts and washers.. I picked up all 3, they are a little pricey but they are connection-less, so no cutting them out. I love them... I used them to add detail all over the chassis. Here are the links.... (also available on eBay) http://www.am-works.com/lw35025-bolt-heads-various-hexagonal/ http://www.am-works.com/lw35026-screw-heads-round-various-sizes-phillips-and-flathead/ http://www.am-works.com/lw35027-nuts-and-washers-various-sizes/ The driveshaft was easy... its the ends from the 29 Revell Model A with some aluminum tube in the middle to get the length right.
  17. Thank you guys!!! For some reason I'm stalling on finishing this one... I think subconsciously its just been such a fun project I don't want it to end. I did get the driveshaft made and painted... however, it was the total wrong color... I used the testors icy blue over gray primer instead of white... oops... so its getting redone. Taillights and Front axle are on..so its pretty much done except that driveshaft and a license plate.. hopefully the next post will be underglass.
  18. Dang... that looks amazing Art! Great work!
  19. Thank you guys!!! Thanks Dave! It was great to meet you as well! I'm sure I will see you around some future shows! Dad really cleaned up... and hes still razzing me about beating out my car.. haha I managed to get some assembly done on the pinto the last couple days... Engine in: Tight fit! but nothing is touching... I had to trim up that fuel pump... after the engine was in, and tweak that front fuel line to the carbs... scary... note to self: always test fit multiple times. Glass in & body and chassis finally mated. Headlights made from "jump rings" and some 1/4" hole punches of trans blue material. Rear axle in.... and that's where i stopped for the night.. Forgot all about tail lights and a drive shaft.. those, a front axle and a bunch of photo-etched bolt heads to apply.. and this baby is done!
  20. Me 3! lowrider, custom, stock...
  21. Very, Very, Sad news... Ive always hoped he would pop back in here and start posting again.. My condolences to his family and friends. Like others I had never met Harry in person, but had several interactions on here... Truly a great guy and an ambassador for our hobby. Godspeed!
  22. Thank you! Ill be there... not sure this will be done.. but it might, depends on how motivated I feel after work tonight. Thanks! oh man.. this thing would be nuts as a 1:1 Made some moon tank brackets last night... cant believe i totally forgot these until now... oops. Oh well, I managed to make them without messing anything up. Just going to use the extra "detail master" moon tank I had laying around.
  23. Thank you guys!!! Thank you! The workshop is actually a mess at the moment... I went right from my model A build back into this one... it just looks clean because I have a lot of work tops to get good photos.. haha. Im going to do a full deep clean after this project is wrapped up... and before i get started on my RC projects for summer... that monster truck needs some love. I managed to get the interior finished up last night, not much more to go on this..... just some fiddly little parts and assembly.
  24. thanks guys!!! that embossing powder is nice stuff... I used "Irlean's-crazy glue" with a couple drops of water in it, worked really well. Nothing crazy exciting going on in the shop... I did get all the alclad chrome done last night... turned out okay, not perfect... but it will work.
  25. Well that just turned out awesome! Nice work once again James!
