    Maybe try a satin clear on the chrome. Rust-Oleum makes some and for the amount you get it's better than dull coat

    Nice Comet. Color is spot on for the early 60's. I noticed on your builds that you like to paint the chrome silver. Is there a reason for this? Just curious.

    That would be a great upgrade or substitute for the F100 although the Fe series engine was not available in the trucks in 1960

    Yes I was referring to the engine in the kit. The engine is definitely an incorrect mishmash and if that's what it comes with so be it, I will resort to the 56/57 Ford engines or a revell y block which is very nice.

    That Y-block is an FE similar to the ones in the 62-64 Galaxie and 34 Ford truck kits with Y-block valve covers. Look at the heads and intake, definitely not a good representation.

    Espo you are correct on the Merc, that's my 49. My I also have a 71 and my wife cruises her 59. Yes, the 57 is a town sedan and it does have a 58 hood. Dad bought it in 77 and was the second owner.

    It looks really sharp to me. The colors make it looks like a 60's rod. Working on one myself and thankfully have not had any issues.
