  1. This has the potential to be either the most radical '57 in history, or the ugliest. Or both! Thats some heavy modding man, keep us updated
  2. Love it man. She looks like a fun ride. And oh so low.
  3. What a transformation! Excellent result man.
  4. Fiddling fiddling fiddling... Here is the completed front end pics. Scratch built stub axles, springs, sway bar and mounts, steering rack and tie-rods. Pics are still poopy as only iPhone. And I have been working on the firewall and radiator panel. Though I seem to have neglected a step and test mocked it all beforehand, so now I have discovered that I am going to have to move the booster in a little to clear the wheelwell, which is not a big deal. However because I lost the radiator panel along with the kit radiator, shroud, batter and water bottle, I made a new panel and used spares for the radiator. Now that I have test fit it, the radiator is too wide! Making the battery connect with the wheelwell, so I am going to have to source another one and move the batter tray I scratch built inwards some more to get everything to fit nicely. Here is some pics of these, with some wiring/plumbing completed also. A bit sloppy I know!
  5. Have you any pics of what you have done?
  6. Reckon you can get your hands on the old car when you're finished and do a side-by-side photo set? Would be great to see the difference in build finish twenty years apart!
  7. Isn't Alclad just the BOMB??? Really loving it. Nicely laid on man. Looking great.
  8. Slick!

Rather radical! Are you planning on BMFing the trim still?
  10. Really nicely finished. A great build man, be proud. I really dig the weathering.
  11. simply beautiful. Everything just looks RIGHT on this. Well done dude.
  12. Now you are just getting finicky! lol... All those things that wouldn't have mattered back in the young days but now we think 'hey, I can do that!' You're nearing the home stretch dude. Looking forward to seeing the finished result.
  13. Thats a sweet little posse you have man. Hope you did well!
  14. Man that is a super clean build. Looks great.
  15. Slick. Very cool.
  16. So precise. This is gonna look badass when it's done dude.
  17. Thanks to Rodent for letting me know, in a different thread here, the kit supplied heater box is actually for a car supplied with air conditioning. So I decided to scratch build one. Here is the kit piece: Here is what the normal heater box for a '67 Chevelle should look like: And here is what I made:
  18. I did end up scratching up a heater box. Here it is with the kit piece.
  19. I don't know what the stock or air con dashes look like so can't tell you. But here is a pic of my kit dash.
  20. See now I did image searches for 1967 Chevelle heater boxes, heaters, 396 heater boxes, Chevelle air con, 1967 chev aircon etc etc and not once did I find an image that had this unit in it! Thanks for posting the pic dude. Now why would AMT use this unit in the kit without adding the compressor and belt???
  21. lol yeah we do use them. Sure it doesn't get to the point where we have to shovel our driveways to get the car out, but it does get down below freezing in the winter in a lot of the southern areas. I have always owned older cars though, my 'newest' was a 1984 Holden Calais. Most of what I have owned have been 60's and 70's holdens and fords. A few of them had no heaters, but that was okay as the heat generated from the gearbox was enough to keep me warm.
  22. I wholeheartedly agree with you on this. The knowledge base is remarkable.
  23. We had a 'Cobra' over here too. A limited run of XC Falcon Coupes that received the moniker and a distinctive paint job.
