  1. Yes the scoops are for the optional hood for the custom version. It has two cutouts in that hood that you would use flaps in for the rally build.
  2. First off, to my friends and family that I have not spoken to yet, please know that I am OK!! I was a little shaken up this afternoon as I was robbed at a gas station in Bourbonnais. After my hands stopped trembling, I managed to call the police. They were quick to respond and calmed me down. All that was taken was my money, about $70.00. The police asked me if I could identify who did it. I said yes. It was pump number 2!
  3. Got the interior done, not much to it as the teuck weas pretty basic. Used partbox seats from a Diamond Rio kit.
  4. I was just saddened to find that the OP Dave Mikrut passed away back in 2016. I would get emails from him time to time after he had a stroke and was trying to get back into building as a form of physical therapy then the emails stopped coming in 2015. Wee had a lot of great conversations about the 60's rail dragsters.
  5. Fantastic work! Great colors and detail work! Far above my pay grade for sure! LOL Always thought white was the best color for that generation of Birds.
  6. Calling it finished. White on decklid is off a bit but after several tries it is what it is.
  7. The Rolling Stones "Live At Leeds" album.
  8. Their cycle is based off the time the dairy farmer decides is milking time! What ever they set becomes the time and the cows head in on their own when it is time! Worked for several different farmers as a kid and all milked at different times. One I worked for milked his cows at 5am. The next year I was working for a farmer that milked his at 8am. I asked why he milked so late when the one last year milked so early. His answer was simple. "Why get up at 4 am to milk when I'm the last pickup by the dairy trucks route?"
  9. You don't need them for the box trailer. I believe this kit built to full length is supposed to represent a 1960's Freuhauf 36' exterior post trailer.
  10. I sent bout 2/3 of a sheet back (maybe a little less) I thew away about a quarter of the sheet that wasn't sticking before I started using white glue to make the foil stay. Between a bunch of little pieces from a past good sheet and what I had already cut off the bad one I should be able to finish the car I'm doing right now. But what a pain it has been!
  11. I believe I would give the guy a fair chance and don't believe he would do that. Have a little faith in your fellow mankind my friend!
  12. Emailed BMF today and received what may be great news back from Randy! BMF reply Re: Quality of product. Inbox RANDY MASON <baremetal@comcast.net> 3:17 PM (1 hour ago) to me Hi Johnny, I have been experiencing supply chain issues. I tried a different supplier to keep the product in the market. I am sorry it wasn't successful. I have a shipment of the original foil coming in early in April. I would be happy to replace the foil for you. If you could please send the foil back by cutting or folding it so it fits into a First Class envelope. The mailing address is PO Box 82 Farmington, MI 48332. When I have the original foil, I can then ship replacement foil. Regards, Randy P. Mason Bare-Metal Foil Co. 248 477-0813
  13. Guitar Man! Wish I could have played that good back when I was younger! All my son's can play but only one really excelled to that level. They started out on my old equipment with what I taught them and they grew from there and far surpassed my abilities! I started out in the mid 60's with an Audition 6 string I bought on layaway at Woolworths. Played in a fer garage bands playing rhythm guitar and drums. Traded the 6 string for a Hofner Bass and Bass and Drums were pretty much all played except maybe some rhythm guitar on 60's rock. Don't have much left as for equipment. a Squire Strat Affinity I just recently purchased and a couple kits I'm building. I have been playing around with the easy 3 cord 60's stuff lately though.LOL
  14. Today what irks me is my newest pack of Bare Metal Foil! Does not want to stick, looks rough even on a piece of smooth mirror I tested it on. No response for them when I emailed them so guess they no longer care about their quality.
  15. Bill I have to say I was a mechanic and a truck driver. I would pick up cheap cars to fix but never sold one that was unsafe. Those I listed were ones I deemed too bad to fix for resale and they became my "terminal" cars. Last thing you wanted to leave parked in the truck terminal yard was a good vehicle.
  16. Completed interior.
  17. Just finished detailing the dash best I could.
  18. A glimpse at the future.
  19. How many had a car or cars that were in such terrible shape that you wouldn't dream of taking it on the road today? Had a Corvair convertible that the floor was so soft you couldn't open both doors at the same time unless you wanted to use a floor jack to get them back closed. By my self was ok but just 1 passenger and you couldn't close even one door! Another was an old Studebaker that smoked so bad a State Trooper said he had followed me for miles and I never saw him until I parked at home! He tagged it unsafe and told me not to drive it again! 64 Falcon that had no starter (always parked on flat ground or hill) and floors patched with plywood and tar.
  20. I thought about it! I owned a 1964 Spyder for a short time. Bought from my old grade school music teacher then made her mad when I sold it to the original owner, her ex husband!LOL Originally was going to make it a convertible that would have replicated a 67 Monza vert I had in Wisconsin. If both doors were accidentally opened at the same time it took a floor jack to close them again!LOL
  21. The body was one I recieved from another member here because the one in a open kit I got in a trade had the front decklid partially cut out badly. It appears to be a prepainted body. I tried putting it in the purple pond for a week and it didn't touch the paint. I didnt get the rear deck lid with the body. Cant seem to match the white on my lid though. Tried twice.
  22. Finishing the engine and creating my own exhaust system. Edit: My exhaust system didn't work out as I did not account for the clearance with the rear wheels and since I cut up the other option to soonI will add heater boxes and stock mufflers with them dumping straight out the back instead. The 4 carbs looked clunky even stripped of chrome so went to the parts box for an alternative.
  23. Nice color choice! I believe these are what you need to make it complete. These are yours if you want them.
  24. Found one I can actually get done because the body is painted. Working on the engine and chassis. Added a little rust.
