  1. For those of us into self-abuse, a lot of the AMT box art is available as online jigsaw puzzles. https://www.jigsawplanet.com/Bigiron383/AMT-Model-Car-Art
  2. Here you go! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/102782-lights-for-your-model-the-circuitry/
  3. I had a '64 Impala SS too, and your well-done model brings back memories. How did you do the back-up lights? Paint? Maybe you can recover...the center light on each side (not the inner light) is the back-up light.
  4. Yes, it would have three caps instead of six.
  5. Very crisp and nicely done. Is that the battery that came with the kit? It's a 12 volt and GM used 6 volt until 1955.
  6. It could be worse..take a really close look at the wheel orientation
  7. If you have a small vacuum, stuff a sock (with no holes) on the inside of the tube and secure the outside of the sock with tape. Fire up the vacuum, hose around the area, then shut the vacuum off. When you remove the sock, everything sucked up will be inside the sock.
  8. Wow! Two plugs per cylinder.
  9. A real garage or a model garage?
  10. Yeah, but what kind of gas mileage does it get?
  11. Very nicely done; the sunglasses and magazine are a nice touch!
  12. Absolutely STELLAR job! Sorry, but (to me) the panel lines are just a bit too dark, but that's just my own opinion. Consider using the body color with a drop (or so) of black for the panel-line wash.
  13. I've seen some LHS and stores that can re-wrap small boxes. If you think about it...if a customer is hesitant to buy a shrink-wrapped kit, open it up. If they buy it, no big deal; if not, re-wrap it.
  14. I'd blame the dehydrator.
  15. Stunning interior. Did you mask the red/white or use decal paper?
  16. I use a home-made drill cradle http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/102101-a-handy-accessory/?tab=comments#comment-1428008
  17. Note that this has what was called the "Sport Roof", where the sides of the roof extended past the rear of the window. There was also a "Formal Roof" that was your basic everyday rounded roof. I had one of each right after I "graduated" from the Army in '69.
  18. Hello neighbor. In case you're looking for a model club, there's an IPMS/AMPS club in Ft. Myers. We meet twice a month (2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month @ 7:00 PM)at the Metro Trains/Hobby shop. Come join us and bring something you've built. I'm the tallest guy in the club, so look me up.
  19. I use Meguiar's paste wax. I emphasized wax to indicate that another option (polish) is an option, as well as the form (wax vs. liquid).
  20. Have you considered Craigslist? You won't have to deal with shipping.
  21. Another vote for the tan/gold.
  22. Tough to do wheelies with a front wheel drive...just sayin'
  23. Perhaps you should follow the written instructions above; they are incredibly simple. Then, if your results are not satisfactory, ask for some pictures.
  24. Keep an eye out for model contests or swap meets; get a vendor table (or two/three etc.) and sell your stuff there. The last time I did this, a gentleman came up near the end of the day and asked "How much for everything?" We negotiated an agreeable price and I didn't bring anything back from the show (aside from the income on the sales).
