  1. I agree. Veteran's Day is 11/11 and, since that is a Sunday this year, it will be observed on Monday. I get a free car wash, free lunch, and free dinner. I say these things are free, but I pre-paid via three years in uniform, one of those years in a hostile duty zone...I was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, which is the same medal awarded to those serving in Afghanistan etc. WELCOME HOME, VETERANS!
  2. You might want to try garden-variety Windex. Unlike automotive polishes/waxes, Novus #2 is a polish, but not a protectant.
  3. Refreshing to see a Stutz that isn't yellow. Nice work!
  4. This place might also have them http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/
  5. Before I retired, I had one of those in my office book case. There was a paper clip on one page in the "S" section...that was the only place you could find sympathy in my office.
  6. My '55 ended up with a highly-modified 327 that would rev up to 8,500 or so...GTOs were lunch!
  7. Nice colors! I had a 1:1 '55 2-dr sedan in the same colors.
  8. True; I made this kit from the AMT Pro Series (with yellow box art) hardtop, and that's the interior that came with it.
  9. I had a convertible with that interior. Here's a model of it.
  10. Great video! Thanks for sharing. It shows a lot of interior detail that model builders often overlook.
  11. Thanks. My youngest son had an '85 SVO and we spent more than a few hours spinning wrenches on it. Based on those times spent together, the thermostat housing shown in your picture is not that of an '85 (or an '85 and 1/2). I built a model and did a WIP on it, but rather than hijack your thread, I'll let you search for it (if you're interested)
  12. Do you plan on installing the windshield washer reservoir?
  13. Make sure you can glue the beading...that might be difficult if it's polypropylene. As a test, cut off a small segment of the beading and glue it to a piece of sprue.
  14. Here's something to consider... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/101745-another-use-for-thread/?tab=comments#comment-1421315
  15. Sounds like a re-pop of the old kit that had yellow box art. Did the P/E include a grille?
  16. You might consider a Japanese version...they are right-hand drive. I wonder if watercraft in Japan, Australia, or Great Britain have the steering wheel on the left (port) side...
  17. Good point, unless the box is factory-sealed.
  18. How old is the epoxy you're using? That stuff does have a shelf life!
  19. I'm glad you took it as it was intended. Others might have been offended.
  20. How about red & black for the '57?
  21. Very nice job on the weathering. With that stance, about the only place you could go camping would be in a parking lot.
  22. Just an observation (think of it as constructive feedback) the V8 emblems beneath the taillights were chrome...maybe a Molotow pen might be in order. The front fender wells were black; only the firewall was painted the body color...kinda late to remedy that.
  23. Very nicely done! Any under-carriage shots?
  24. You need to cultivate some frogs or lizards (which eat flies)
