  1. Very nice build! I've always liked these trucks!
  2. Thanks Tom!! This one is now Under Glass. Thanks to everyone who commented along the way!
  3. I'm calling this one finished. It is nothing fancy, just an old workhorse. This is built to be a replica of the truck that my dad drove for a while. I had the privilege of riding all over the east coast with him in this truck. It was powered by an 8v-71T Detroit. The truck belonged to Wilco truck rental and had formerly been leased to Monkey Grip, so it had a pretty fresh paint job on it. The truck began with an AMT K123. I swapped out the rear suspension with a Reyco style. The engine is from the AMT aerodyne kit with valve covers from the AMT 352 Peterbilt. The drive wheels are from the AMT Superboss kits with the center hubs drilled out. The front wheels are resin from an Ebay supplier. The 10 tires, front bumper, grill, intake stack, and fans are from KJ at Double Take Replicas. The deck plate is from moluninum.com. The dash panels came from Czech model truck parts. The air deflector is from an AMT Road Boss kit. Emblems, door handles and steps are from Auslow. The tanks are PVC pipe. Decals on the truck and trailer are from diecastanddecals.com. Ladders and turn signals are from the Revel K100. The trailer is an old Ertl kit with resin wheels from an Ebay supplier. Oiler hubs are from molumnium.com.
  4. Awesome collection Ken!! I have trouble deciding on a favorite!! Of course, it's probably between the yellow and white cabover KW and the rainbow Western Star.
  5. You can't go wrong with a cabover KW!
  6. Thanks Vince! The trailer says: "Hudson Industries Inc." on top and "Manufacturer of Fine Foods" on the bottom. The shield on the trailer says: "H I I." The trucking division was "Hudson Transportation Inc." The shield on the truck door says "H T I." This was a company based out of Troy Alabama, just up the street from Wiley Sanders. They made mustard, mayo, etc.. They had a plant in Lexington N.C. for several years. My dad ran the Lexington truck shop for a while, but also drove for a while. The truck that he drove was a KW like this one.
  7. Thanks for all the comments guys!! The trailer is done if I don't add any weathering, but I haven't decided on that.
  8. I'm needing a paving job done next week. Do you think it will be ready to go to work by then?
  9. Your rear axle is right. It may be tilted slightly which might make the angle appear too sharp.
  10. Looks great!! I have a few with the torsion bar suspension that I need to build one day!
  11. Very nice! I would go crazy working with that small of scale! Great work!
  12. Amazing work!! I use Purple Wave for reference too. Great source!!
  13. Great looking TP Truck!! Great work!
  14. I like where you're going with this one!
  15. Thanks Kerry! All the trucks this company owned were painted this way. If I'm not mistaken they even had a Model A Ford painted these colors. Thanks! Thanks KJ! I managed to get a few parts from one of the best K100 builders around for this build, and a lot of inspiration from the same source. Thanks man! Thanks Jeff! These KWs were owned by Wilco Truck Rental. This one had been leased to Monkey Grip (yellow and red trucks) and had a fresh paint job, frame and all on it when my dad got it. I wanted it to be pretty fresh looking. Thanks!! Thanks Vince!
