  1. I like it!! You’re knocking this one out!
  2. Update! Dan’s son has asked for pictures and says that he wants to make things right. I will let you know how this turns out.
  3. Thanks! That is the same address. I sent a message to his son who I suppose handles his EBay store. We will see what he says. It is really my fault for not unwrapping it in July and checking it then. The good thing is; it won’t be the last dumb thing that I do.
  4. I have sent a message back to his son. I ordered it in July and we’ll now it is January. I glanced at it then, but most of it was wrapped in plastic. It went into the closet until now. I I asked him if a new mold with a new master was used or what happened. I didn’t ask for anything because I should have checked it six months ago. We’ll see what he says. I think that I can work with it, but it is clearly a different cab.
  5. Got my first valve covers cast. Not perfect, but not bad. You can see the 6v-71 valve cover and head compared to the 6v-53 valve cover and head.
  6. It is supposed to be the real thing and definitely didn’t have a recast price. We will see what happens.
  7. I hate when that happens! Maybe that is why I like to build working trucks. It looks great though! I really like the blue stripes on the yellow. This has been one awesome build!
  8. Doug that is a beautiful Peterbilt! NIce fleet! It’s hard to pick a favorite! But it is between the Peterbilt and the Transtar.
  9. Working on the power plant. Trying to replicate a 6v-53 Detroit. I have the block done, timing cover and accessory drive pulleys on the front. I have a valve cover and head done, but I am attempting to make a cast of it. I cut down an 8v block to start with. I cut down the blower. You can see the block and blower compared to the 8v version.
  10. Thanks!! I will check that out. Thanks! I’m not sure. I picked this one up second hand.
  11. cipmodels just messaged me back and said that he is Dan’s Son.
  12. This appears to be the same address as Dans Models on Facebook.
  13. I ordered it from eBay from the same seller in the link above from Romania. It is still in the box it was shipped in. For the sake of argument I sent the eBay seller a message to ask if they were Dan Models or just a dealer. I also asked leaf springs if his was still in the box to compare addresses. I purchased it thinking that I was getting it straight from Dans models based on others experience. I’m not trying to spread negativity, but this is definitely not what it was represented as. If we can find out what happened maybe it will help someone else not have the same problem. Thanks for you guys input.
  14. Is yours still in the box with the address. I’m curious to see if it is the same.
  15. It is listed as cipmodels on eBay. It is the same one that posted all his kit including the Kenworth in the link above. It was shipped from Romania. It was the same stock photo. It came with the same photo etch. I agree it is not the same cab.
  16. I’m building it as a T8000, there is a build thread with pictures, but I will post one here. The roof is the worst part. If you go to my build thread, another member posted pictures of his cab that actually looks like the stock photo and you can see the differences.
  17. I just started my 850 Ford. Unfortunately I didn’t look at it close when it arrived, life was very busy and I was just glad that it came. It is definitely not from the same master as the one pictured above nor is the quality up to the one above. I am not saying that you shouldn’t buy one, I am just saying be aware that you most likely won’t get what is in the picture, and that evidently that the one pictured doesn’t exist any more.
  18. I just noticed that this one is totally different than mine. It is not just the roof. Mine has molded in door handles and a molded in cowl grate. The all around quality on yours looks much better too. That is definitely a different mold with a different master.
  19. Thanks Larry!! Thanks Dan!! You know that I like working trucks! Thanks! The asphalt stains looked better under my desk light inside, but outside, the sunlight seemed to hide most of my chalk work. Thanks!! Thanks JT!! I have you to thank! You inspired the color and the wheels!
  20. I really like this thread! Of course I like cabovers! I’m really glad that this was brought back. I’ve posted some on here before, but most of them got swallowed up by the Flicker down size. Here is a few of mine.
  21. Beautiful build! Excellent work! It turned out great!
  22. Beautiful cabovers Bill and Seth! Great work! Juergen, I’m glad to see these builds again! I always enjoy your creations! The Unistar has a my favorite!
  23. That is interesting. Thank you for posting those pictures. Everything was wrapped when I got it and I didn’t look at the cab very closely. I remember thinking that the top looked different than I thought that it would, but I was in the middle of something and put it away until now. Your pictures make a good reference though.
