Those of us of a certain age will fondly remember the short stories in Pop Sci that introduced us to "Gus Wilson, Veteran Auto Mechanic" who's wisdom, and trouble shooting talents were second to none. I know that some of my automotive interests were sparked by these stories, the rest by by my Dad, and antique Car Nut. They helped to turn me on to cars, in the 1970's when I started to read 'grown-up' magazines like the Popular Mechanics and Popular Science that my Dad always subscribed to. I read every Gus Wilson story I could, and learned a whole lot about cars, and how to fix them. Looking on the Internet yesterday I found a site devoted to Gus and his stories. I found it fascinating. I share it in hope that some of you will find it as fun as I did. I know I'll be reading stories here for a very long time. Stories started in 1925 (!) and run until 1970, for 45 years. https://gus-stories.org/index.htm

Many Thanks! Those are Exactly the Pics I needed to see. -
So, I get home from a hard day at the office last night, and flop into my recliner. On the table next to it, is a huge Lego Box. My oldest Daughter got it for me, as a "Just Because Gift"! It's been a rough couple of weeks, and this just melted my heart! Many Happy Hours of "Lego" to come.

It is very close. In fact IIRC, the Valve Covers look to have been cut from the same master.

The Bobby Allison Matador Racer in the Coke markings is now the easiest way to find an AMC V8. They come up fairly often, and few folks want them.

Be sure the Colour on the Bonnet and Wings, match, Old Boy! (of course I've spelled it 'colour' for 50 years now.)

How Awful! I feel for you, Carl. That is just sad.

In my opinion, Yes, it is in the wrong place. But, the Mods have not moved it, so I've kept my mouth shut. -

Any News on this kit? If it is just "in the Future" that is fine too.

Well, I finally got the Malibu. Now I have both the Recent '55 Badman in the Stars'n'Stripes markings and the New Issue of the Malibu. I'll be swapping wheels and possibly scrounging a Monogram 1/24 Blower assembly for the 'Bu. I'm happy with both kits now that I have them in hand.
