  1. If it IS the old Miss Deal kit, maybe Atlantis is trying to put their own stamp on it. It might be nice to have new decals for a kit that has had the same livery for going on 50 years. Or, Possibly Revell still has the rights to the "Miss Deal" markings, forcing Atlantis to come up with their own name. There could be 3rd and 4th possiblities, but I have no clue what they might be.
  2. Great work. I have one of these setting in a box, half done. I need to dig it back out and work on it.
  3. Nice Comparison. Can I use it?
  4. Usually the OX-5 V-8's, in racers use stubs. I may have seen one with pipes. Google "Curtiss OX-5 V-8 Racers or Race Cars" for some good pics.
  5. Awesome Work. I like how you can see the checkerboard floor in the reflections in the sides of the car.
  6. The difference between 1/24 vs 1/25 is that big? Really?
  7. It will look great pulling a race car on a trailer!
  8. I really like your build. The Colour, Stance, and Details, all combine into one seamless package of Early Rodding. Could have come from the pages of The Rodder's Journal.
  9. Thank You, Steve for giving those details. Any thoughts on if we will ever see the Tudor Sedan again. That is my favorite '34 Ford.
  10. Nice Box Art on the '34. I wonder if it will be Street Rod Only?
  11. Laser Sharp Build. Sanitary as the Old Rodders would have said. Great Work!
  12. There is no real reason for that. Some of the MPC Stuff is decent. Witness the Recent Toyota Supra Kit, tooled in the mid 1980's and as good as any AMT Kit. Also, look at the upcoming ex-MPC '68 Coronet kits. And Atlantis is using old Revell tooling that is 60/70 years old. It is just not up to modern standards. As long as you know that, the fiddly ,delicate nature of the old tooling becomes just another challenge. The Fireball Dragster is old Monogram tooling, and while highly simplified, makes a great little build as half a dozen builders on this board have shown. However, if you feel you have been burned by those brands, there are plenty of other brands to build. Model On!
  13. And, Round2 Delivers again. The Amphicat Kit is now on pre-order on line.
  14. Blacksheep say the important part out loud. That is a big If!
  15. My HL is now out of Short-Cuts paints too. I wonder what the heck is really going on?
  16. Well, The minute he bags on one there goes $500.00 a month in free kits!
  17. Back on track. Atlantis is bringing back the Revell Parts Pack 283 Small Block. Chromed, no less. Be nice to have this one back.
  18. And, I opened the kit, and looked at the tires. Jason was correct, the Dunlop 185's are the best choice. The Bridgestones were just way too small. Trevor, hit me up in the messages.
  19. I have 4 Scout Kits. I'd easily be in for a couple new grilles. Number "C" is my favorite.
  20. I got furloughed yesterday. My Hours were cut 50%. I'm down to 2, 12 hours days a week. Normally I work 4 days a week. Going to be rough. Supposedly it is temporary, but I am skeptical. Oilfield Business here in Kern County is slowing dramatically. My Hours are being cut because the rig counts are dropping very quickly. For My Company, No Rigs, means No Work! Not sure If I should hold out to see what happens in March, or try to find another job, and just quit. California does allow you to apply for "Partial Un-Employment" I am starting that process now. I'll be 60, in May, and while illegal, "Age Discrimination" is very real. I'm just not sure what to do right now.
  21. Yes, they would be. I've noticed that generally speaking, the Ford Products retain a full size Chrome tree, and a lot of extra parts. The GM Cars, have tiny 'Promo' style chrome trees and very few extra parts. The Buick, however contains the complete optional 'custom' intake set-up. An extra intake, 4 two-barrel carbs, and 8 intake stacks. Has a very sharp set of 5 spoke Buick Factory Stock Mags, too. They are from a promo, if you look at the wheel backs. They are sized for the larger promo axles.
  22. Robert, You be surprised how many of the original parts are on the Chrome tree. Quite a few. A bunch of small, miscellaneous parts on the white parts trees too.
  23. Neat Stuff. I have the first 2 seasons on DVD. I rewatch them often. I saw most of the show on broadcast TV when it was first run. Always liked it. I've always wondered why Jack Webb never pursued Lic Agreements with Toy/Model Companies to sell little 'Squads' and 'Adam-12s'? I know I'd have pestered Grandma until I got the whole set!
  24. I like all 3 versions.
  25. Very Nice Work. You would never guess that it is a 3D print.
