So, It surfaced at the Big Show this weekend. Well at least the signage did. Boy, I hope this isn't another damp squib, from Okey.

1975 Ford F-250 Grille, please? -
"Street Freaks" is what they were called back then. AMT Put a second seat and exhaust pipes in many of the their Gassers, and called them Street Freaks to get more use out of the Molds. Tim Boyd has done a lot of writing about them in the Scale Car Magazines over the years.

B-17 and P-63 King Cobra gone for ever
stavanzer replied to Mike 1017's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
One Video early mentioned that the "Airboss" (who has control of all the Airplanes in the air during the show) had called the P-63 to "move up past the B-17". or "Overtake the B-17". If that indeed turns out to be the case, that will explain much of what happened. Bill is right. Watch Juan Browne" aka "Blancoliro" that he linked up above. He is one of the very best Aviation guys on YouTube. He knows his stuff and tells the truth. Dan Gryder is okay, but Blancoliro is just better. This and the '909' incident are going to put a stop to Warbird Airshows eventually. 6 dead men, and 2 unique planes gone, and families traumatized. The upside to watching these shows is getting smaller and smaller. It is time to stop. I say this a a Dedicated Airshow Chaser. from 1981 to 1995 I went to many Airshows, and I love the Warbirds. But, sadly, it is time to ground these planes and preserve what is left. -

In Fact, this kit was done exactly the way I had hoped Revell would do the '66 Malibu Flip-nose kit. Rubs me the wrong way, I tell ya! ? On the other hand, this kit is Superb, and the parts are all 1/24, so they will drop into the '66 Malibu with ease. So, Kudos to Revell for getting this one exactly right! And Dave has this part Right to! Go get you Aftermarket Decals and some transparent Red Paint, and you have a fresh "Badman" kit. -

I think Revell made a very Poor Judgement Call in not being open about what this Kit is. It is not a bad kit. But "Skill Level 4"?? That is Gaslighting of the first order. I'm not sure who set the pricing, but that is wrong also. Revell seems to be on a roll lately with Poor Decisions. It's almost like the folks running (Ruining) the Company know nothing about models. If this keeps up, all the Olds-442's in the world are not going to overcome the bad first impressions. -

Well, you are closer than we are to the "Front Lines" so to speak, so your opinion matters more than mine does. Get your kids whatever interests them, and Model On. -

I've noticed too, that few Hobbyists (in any Hobby) are 100% 'Into' the hobby for their whole lives. Interests, Circumstances, Incomes, & other aspects of life change. Marriage & Divorce are two of the biggest factors in hobby participation too. I know of two prolific Modelers who completely left the hobby. One in a Divorce, the other to Marriage. The Married Guy has not modeled now for over 20 years. He may come back to it someday. The Divorced Guy, just quit everything when he got divorced. He has both a 1 to 1 Fad T-Bucket, and a Scratch Built, Brass Framed Model of the same T, at about the 90% done state. They have been at 90% for at least 10 years. Neither will ever get done. The Loss of His Marriage gutted him. He works, He Drinks, He goes home to repeat it again. He pays Alimony. That is all he is willing to do now. So, Life affects different Modelers many ways. There is a guy in our club who built Award Winning 1/35 Scale Armor kits for years. He was in FSM and Won National IPMS Contests. He walked away from Armour several years ago. He Told me that he had accomplished all he wanted and would never touch an Armour kit again. Yet, he is happily building cars now, after 20 years of not touching them. So, some of those Builders you seek, may have simply reached what they felt was their peak, and moved on to different aspects of the Hobby. -
