Ramchargers Dragster and Transporter Truck
stavanzer replied to Raoul Ross's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Different Truck, I think. Anybody have a link for the Instruction sheet for this kit? I thought Drastic Plastics had it, but I cannot find it there. -
Posted December 11, 2021 "As to when this will see a Re-Issue? My vote is squarely on "Never". Revell does not appear to to even know what kits they have in their tool bank anymore. So, my first pass answer, remains, "Never Again". If you want one, buy one. Do not wait. This advice applies to almost any Revell kit that is not in their current catalog. If you want a certain Revell kit, buy one now, and don't wait for Revell to re-issue it. Will Revell keep re-issuing older kits? Of course they will. But, Ed Sexton and the other "true Believers" appear to have less 'pull' with the Mothership about what kits get chosen to re-issue. So, I expect that the scattershot, "throw it against the wall, and see if it sticks" release schedule to continue. This makes me sad, but this is what I see. A few well chosen Modified New Release kits, and odd forays into the tooling that is still held by R/M. I hope I am proven wrong." You can see here, how badly wrong I can be, when I make guesses. Glad to see this kit coming back.

My hope was that they'd have at least included the blower parts (THAT WERE ALREADY PART OF THE CHROME TREE), and maybe give us 2 set of wheels, which is pretty much the lowest bar to clear for a 2'n'1 kit. Even Maisto and Burago Diecasts usally give at least 2 sets of wheels.

Well, Kurt, I've got Beer Tastes and a Kool-aid Budget, so I can't help. Where I work we have drilling rigs waiting for the State of California to issue permits. Some permits were approved last August. Rigs are still waiting for the approved permit, to be issued. (Approving & Issuing, are two separate processes here) No work can start until the permit is issued. It is one gigantic furball of fubar.

1/25 MPC '33 Willys Panel Van - Paddy Wagon

I'm sorry Patrick. I fat thumbed the year. I meant '50 Merc, but you are correct. A '51 Would Be Great! -
Here is HPI Guy's build. And Chris shows the extremely Lame, Pseudo- 2'n'1 Version that Revell foisted on the public. Not Chris's fault. He does a good job with what he was given.

I notice that all the Lancia Rallye cars have those Aero Discs on the Front Wheels. I saw them first on the Iltaleri Lancias. What are they for? Some Kind of Brake Cooling Fan?

Racers wedge WIP
stavanzer replied to Blue Ox Model Shop's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Just a guess. AMT tooled it that way because: 1. They were just taking shortcuts to use an already existing kit, and they chose not use Dual Rims. 2. Somebody thought is looked 'cooler' and 'Coolness' was a 'Thing' back then in the marketing of kits. 3. Got me! I can't think of any other reasons. -
Try looking over at the "Modeling Madness" website. Scott Van Aken who runs it, is in St Louis. He might know. https://modelingmadness.com/index.htm

Yeah, John, a Jimmy is certainly possible given the interchangeability of both 1/1 and Monogram Squarebody trucks. I may need to acquire one of those '76 Stepsides my self.

What irks me? Noisy & Needy Amazon Parrots. The minute I get up, he starts calling for me.
-
John Shoe, that is a great I idea. But, use the recent '76 Stepside kit in order to get the proper stock engine, rather than the '57 Fuelie Intake that is on the GMC Snowplow truck. That will get you the stock suspension and hood, plus some stock Chevy wheels. That will get you the closest to a stock Blazer, although it will still be topless.

Tom, my wife uses those glasses. Can I give you a tip? If you are not a regular Glasses Wearer, go back and buy Ten Bucks worth, and just hold onto them. You will find yourself misplacing them and sometimes stepping on them. If you have a few put away, there will be no Drama when something happens late Sunday Night when the stores are closed. (ask me how I know) Cheers, and Good Luck. Nice to see that the Print has gotten bigger, isn'y it? Alan
