Well, it's older MPC tooling. Fit is not precise and there is some flash in the kit. -
I buy that Dodge Moncao kit JUST for the Wheels and Tires! I love'em! The Cop Gear is very nice too.
-
Well, I'll have a resin Joker for sale or trade right after I get that Goon Car kit. Can never have enough Dodge Cop Cars, and that Figure is just so much trash to me.

I'll be at the Bakersfield HL tomorrow. I hope they have some new stuff. Nice to hear about the Airfix planes. I cam always use more Airfix kits.

A kit? I've never seen before ....

Kit is the MPC '73-76 Camaro. Look at that chrome tree. Dean Milano showed this kit in S.A.E. many, many years ago. It was a full page article. Be great if somebody could find it and scan it here. -

Nice Colour, but it sits waaaayyy too high. It needs to be lowered. The Bottoms of the wheels should be even with the bottom line on the doors. -
Thanks for the photos, JC. That explains where and what those parts are for. I learn something from this board every week.
-
Hmmm, Not sure I've ever seen a car with these. Norm sure makes some nice stuff though.

A tip. You might want to think about de-chroming those wire wheels. Painted wheels would be more period correct. As for the rest of your build, it is Superb! Keep On Truckin' -
That is just a 'flat out' great build! I love that colour on that car. Way to go.

I'll second the Rat Roaster kit. Very Underrated, even now. I'll add, the Revell Chevy Pickup and Harley Davidson motorcycle kit. A great 1999 Chevy Truck and the only Modern 1/25 Scale Harley. A great kit, that seems to have just faded away. Unless you want to buy one!

History of MPC's Dodge D/W Series Trucks
stavanzer replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The Camper Special I owned had no trim on the cab and bed, so the bare cab & bed would not bother me. As long as I could get the correct grille and a flat hood, 8 lug wheels, and street tires, I'll live with the rest. I'd rather have it with some faults, than not have it at all. -
History of MPC's Dodge D/W Series Trucks

It is about time for Round2 to bring back these kits. I need one of the '73-74 kits to re-create my Grandfathers 1973 3/4 ton Camper Special. I remember him talking later about the truck, after he gave it to me in 1990. It was a special order. He had wanted to get it without a heater or power steering, as he felt those were just an attempt by the dealer to cheat him. The whole deal almost fell through when he found that he could not "Opt Out" of those items. Only after much explaining by the salesman that those items were included in the cost of the Base Truck, and even if they could be delete it would not lower the price, did the deal go forward. Despite his grumbling, my Grandpa must have done something right, as the dealer threw in a free A/C. That same salesman sold my uncle, a similar Camper Special about 2 months later. The truck spent it's entire life in Los Angeles, and never once did Grandpa use the heater. When he gave it to me the controls were frozen, and the vent hoses under the dash were in ratting shreds. It had a 400 Big Block and the two barrel carb would stall on hard right turns. Never could get it to run right. Wish I still had the truck. -
Luc, that would be my guess. We won't know for sure for a few more months. Time to let the speculations, and complaints begin. I learned to drive in my Dad's 1961 Chevy Pickup. I'll be glad to have this kit back. Now to find a resin, Long Bed, Stepside box.
