1/25 AMT '34 Ford Pickup Customizing Kit
stavanzer replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I just checked you tube, hoping for an un-boxing video of the '34 P/U. Still no luck! I hope Chris is planning on getting one! -
I'm in for the Land Rover Fire Truck.

Good Job! We need more saves like this.
-
Very Nice! A Yellow Rod always looks cool.
-
Alternomad! My First Choice it would be.

You will love that kit! Two great markings options in the box. It is a peach of a kit detail-wise as well. Modern and nicely tooled. -

Awesome! I look forward to seeing them built. Do you have the" Modern Airshow" version of the 1/48 Revell Stearman Bipe? -

Very Nice! Get a Minicraft 1/48 Cessna 172, and you have the flight line at a modern Airshow. -
A Thought about the Magazine, etc.

What I miss most from the Mag are Larry Greenberg's Kit reviews. He is one of the most knowledgeable reviewers out there IMHO, and a great historian of the hobby. I wish Gregg could get those reviews online. I'd gladly pay for those. I know that Larry used to have a website with some reviews, but it is long gone. -
Welcome back. I'd choose a kit, but before buying it, ask the helpful members here for any opinions on how easy it will be to build. We can give you feedback and tips on any kit you chose. Remember that many of the AMT or MPC kits you grew up with are out there in fresh Round2 boxes at HobbyLobby or the LHS. They have nifty pad-printed white walls & great new decals, but it is the same well loved plastic in the box. And Round2 kits now feature a parts layout drawing on the bottom of the box, showing everything you get in the kit. Good Luck! and Happy Modeling! Alan

Amen, Bill! A "Big Thank You" to Gregg is well deserved. This is indeed a great website. -
So who's gonna put those "Mr. Tuff" decals on a sheet? Maybe Slixx will put them on one of their Mini Sheets.
-
Thanks, Joe! This helps those of us who do not live in New York.
-
I cannot wait to see what is inside this kit. The decals alone will be worth the price.

Toyota FJ Crusier, What's In The Box

I do not see the Snorkle Air Intake Tube that seems to be on a bout half the FJs I see here in California. I wonder if they'll do a later Off Road version with more aggressive tires, and the optional parts? -
He's back. 8 Car kits introduced.

Man, I need a set of those wheels! -
I too, am waiting for one of these kits. I don't care who's decals are in the box, as I am building a privateer car. I've got a Slixx Mini Gasser sheet with "Famoso Mob" markings just waiting for the kit.

The Tamiya kit has a molded on emblem. The Revell boxing shares the Tamiya body, so it is molded the same way. I think, maybe, that the "New" Revell VW Van has a separate emblem, but don't quote me on that.

Any Idea what the '66 Chevy Custom will be? Could it be the long out-of-production, Flip Front Malibu?
-
I wonder how long before somebody offers a resin conversion to have an 'open door' on the service bed? This kit will be a "Must Have" for me.

I'm in. Lindberg Dodge Caravan.
