BJ & the Bear Super Kenworth
stavanzer replied to Mike77's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Now, that is a great Build! I love it. Good Show. -
Thanks, I was just wondering. I liked the look of the kit rims, and wondered if they were incorrect somehow.
-
Sure Looks Nice! Good Show.
-
I see you used PP Wheels. What was wrong with the Kit rims?

Mopar Guys you have finally got your wish

Hoo Boy! What a great idea.(sarc) Does MOPAR hate just their Fanboys that much? -
Stay far away from the Lindberg kit. It is an old Ideal Toys kit. Baseball sized rivets, poor shapes, and overall clunky design.

What a Glorious Replica! It looks Showroom Fresh! Good Show.

History of Monogram's 1955 Ford Trucks
stavanzer replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I agree. There is so much that could be done to freshen up these kits with Minimal effort. Just stock hubcaps and steelies on the usual re-tread ex-Monogram tires would help, and as you note a Four Barrel Carb on the 289 would be great. Add in a Ladder and a couple Racks, and you could sell it to a whole new generation of builders. It doesn't have to be Stock, it just has to look Stock. (from the outside, anyway). The guys who want all stock will have to convert it. With Resto-Mods and Resto-Rods being popular Revell could surf the trends. -
I suppose this trend is sticking around?

It's about time for Revell to dust off the tooling for the '55 Panel Truck version of this tool, and give us a fresh version. If they threw in some Stock(ish) looking wheels and tires, it would probably do pretty well. Add in some Light Commercial Decals to sweeten the deal. -
40 years ago, the feral cats at my Folks ranch had a litter of kittens. I named them Aileron, Speedbrake and Tailwheel. Only Aileron ever became friendly. B.T.W. Thanks for posting all the Cat Pics. My 6 year old Grandson and I look at the pics some mornings. He Loves the pics and shrieks with Joy, when he see photos of Cats that look like the 5 cats he has at his house. He really likes to look at the Cat Pics and Videos!

Because they don't look like engines... There could be anything under there. Squirrels, Nuclear Reactors, Magic Beans! They have no romance, no soul. -

The older I get the more I feel like I don't want to build an engine in anything built after the year 2000. Just too much trouble. -

My Truck does have a lot of Cabin noise. How did you get the sound deadening done? -
Gofer Racing sells some. Model Roundup has them. (as will anyplace that carries Gofer Racing parts) https://www.modelroundup.com/category-s/291.htm

My truck (2007 Chevy) will stay with stock rims and tires for it's life. The Rims are sharp looking, and it rides and drives just fine as it is. I want to add a Brush Guard/Push Bumper and mount Fog Lights but that is about it as far as mods go. I'm too old to want to fool around with "Cool" looks anymore. If I want Cool, I'll build a model of it. -
72 Jeepster. Anyone know anything about this coming out.
