1960 Ford F-100 Pickup
stavanzer replied to ModelcarJR's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Tri-Power On the V-8 is an artifact of duplicating the original kit. You will notice that both the 1960 & 1963 Fords have the same Tri-Power set up. I've thought of robbing the AMT 56 or '57 Ford Cars for an Air Cleaner and Carb, and just filling and painting the Intake from the truck kit, to look more like a stock intake. -

1937 Ford pickup tow truck
stavanzer replied to eran_k's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
What an Awesome build! You really captured the Pre-WWII vibe with your truck. It might look better with some dirt and door markings, but it looks showroom fresh right now. -
1992 Ford F-150 XL Work Truck

Looks Good. Those Caution lights are almost always fabbed. My Recent Former Employer, has his shop build mounts for every one of his trucks. Yours has the look of what I saw on his work trucks. -

And, I just watched part of the Video. Please Round2, can we have the correct Light Truck tires Back? Those Wide Tread, Street Meats are just wrong for that truck in so many ways, even if it is a "Performance" Truck....... Not 1990's Tires either. They look more 1980's.

And HPI Guy, has built it.

Sadly, that trim package does not move me. But, your build of it is sure great.

I inherited this book from my Dad, last year when he passed. We talked about the Ford tractors some, as he was searching for a 9N like he drove in High School on the farm. That is where I learned much about the Fords.

You might look on this link. https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/revell-instructions/straightline-competition/ There may be a kits there that has the same chassis, but a different Body. Hope this helps. -
Can you tell me more about Using the Tamiya Drill. I remember seeing the ads when it was introduced, but did not buy one at the time. Now, I think I want one, but what is it like to live with and use? The size looks handy. Is the collet for holding the Drill bits sturdy enough?

Moebuis 1965 nova Resto mod and stock nova ss
stavanzer replied to 66c10's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
IIRC, some minor changes in Engine Parts. (Valve Covers, Carbs, Air Cleaners, ect.) And of course, wheel options. -
I really want to see how this kit is tooled. It looks like it might be easy to change colours, with a quik paint job as only the Grey or White parts would need to be painted. I'll be waiting to see the reviews.

Thank You , for the education, Chuck. I'm more familiar with John Deere tractors than Fords, so I was off base. WE still need some American Tractors.

I really Like where you are going with this. Keep up the Good Work. Nice to know about those Base Wheels. -
Went in to work at 8am. Had a Conference with The Boss & His Wife (she handles all personnel and payroll issues) at 9am Was laid off and out the door by 10am. This place has been one of the worst places I have ever worked for, but I did not expect this.... I'll not miss it, but looking for work in 106 deg, heat is no fun.

Ford and Ferguson had a Fraught and Complex relationship, but the Heller Ferguson is closer to the 9N than you think. Of course, they are not alike, as you point out. But, some scratch building and conversion work could get you close to a Ford-Ferguson. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_N-series_tractor
