Just finished this one. Box stock. Paint is Tamiya gunmetal & Testors mythical maroon laquer. I think the two tone looks good on these cars. Not my best bmf work, but I'm okay with it. The hood latch decided to fly into oblivion & and isn't expected to return for a few months at least. Comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

1929 Model A Ford wrecker
Chuckyg1 replied to mchook's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
At first I was like, OK another tow truck, let's skip this one. Well......I didn't & real happy about it. The weathering on your build is spot on. Like others have mention, not over the top. Really digging the interior & your scratch build items. very well executed. thanks for sharing. -
Jouko, Thanks for the tips. They'll be a help when I start this build. My Saloon kit is an ICM product. I went back & checked, the parts are there, but nothing is chrome. Oh well, I'll figure it out. Thanks again. Stay well.

Nice job on both of these. Interior detail on the chabriolet, and the chassis/engine look great. I picked up the saloon last week. Can't wait to get into it. Couple of questions; Can the multie piece body be assembled/painted before adding the interior panels. What method did you use to chrome the grill, trim, etc. since there are no chrome pieces in the kit? Thanks for any advice/help you can offer, and again, you group of Admirals look great.

I also use the panel line accent on chrome for washes. Grills, hubcaps, trim pieces, etc. Like everything else, there's a learning curve. Here, I used it on the hubcaps of my work truck. Sometimes multiple applications are needed.

Not mentioned yet is Phantom Works. I really like the down to earth style of Dan and his crew.

Nice clean build. I like this a lot. I'm waiting on that camper too. -
Wow, great idea. It came out great. The paint choice is perfect.

Wonderfully executed build. It looks perfect.

Generally Not a big fan of this type is wheel, but it works surprisingly well on your build. The color is outstanding as is the interior. Really nice build.
-
Make that color combo.
-
Nicely done. Love the car combo. You're right about the extra parts, I used the custom wheel covers on revell's 49 merc.

Wow, this looks very nice. Very believable.

This is gonna be cool..............watching.

Wanted something different to build. Got this today. The body is multi piece. Anyone know if it can be assembled first, or will it complicate the build. Comes with a straight 6. Being an Opel, (1938-39), would the 6 be similar to a Chevy? Can't wait to start this.

Wow, very nice. Like the two tone combo. The interior looks really really good. How hard was it to detail the interior panels?
-
Yeah, like your choice of color. Very nice, clean build. I have this kit, but every time I look it over, I put it back. Seeing how yours came out is making me rethink this for a future project.

Found this languishing behind a gas station garage. BB 454/auto trans. 71 or 72 I believe. Inspection/registration good through 2021. Interior looks pretty trashed, front bumper separating from body. Spider web on front wheel, chipped doors, etc. Couldn't read the odometer. I'll take it! -
Well isn't this cool! This is well thought out, and the parts integrate really well. Nice concept wonderfully executed. Nice job.

Saw a Tesla the other day and the plate read YPUMPGAS.
