Where's the snowman?
-
Hey Thomas. Yeah, these kits are pretty cool. My sedan build is on hold currently, I'm stripping the paint. The engraving is crisp with plent of detail. There's a lot of delicate pieces that need care when removing from the sprues. Though the body is multi piece, little to no trimming/adjustments are needed to help it come together. It helps to use the fenders as a jig to line up the body pieces. The chassis builds up from separate rails, so care is needed to ensure everything is square. Oddly, my kit came without any chrome parts though they're obviously present on the real car. I understand that RoG's rebox lacks the chrome as well. I solved the problem using BMF & a chrome pen. I know, coulda used a plating service, but didn't want to incur the cost. As far as I know, not all kits are missing the chrome. Anyway, it's different as to how you approach the build, as well as subject matter. Probably why I'm enjoying this kit as much as I am. Missing chrome be damned. If you want to try something different, but familiar and you don't mind the chrome issue, go for it.

The weathering is perfect, the interior appropriately worn & and the engine bay in great. Lots to look at. Love this build, nicely done. -
I get a magazine through the mail called clipper about once a month. The advertise local home improvement, restaurants, etc. Last May around Cinco di Maya, a Mexican restaurant was advertising it's menu. Included in the ad was this phrase, "Made by authentic Mexicans", not fake ones, these were the real McCoy. It's wrong on so many levels.

I'm doing exactly what mikemodeler recommends right now. It's an easy bash, just some minor tweaking is required. Here's a pick of where I'm at in the build. -
Great builds, nice clean work. Like the color choice on the civilian build. Why is the glass missing in some photos?

I'm intrigued by this. Looks pretty cool. Having some experience with Revell snappers, and seeing what's in the box, I agree with others. Must have.

Wow! Just stumble on to this. Great modifications. You really have to look twice to appreciate all the work. This is what a Smokey Yunick custom would look like, very subtle. I'll be following along.

This is going to be awesome. Great concept, I'll be following along. -
I see this all the time. The "health conscious" cruising the lot or waiting for the closest spot possible at the gym. You're going to exercise, a few more steps won't kill you!

Lindberg 1/8th scale Big Red Rod, no chrome???

I recently receive the opel admiral from ICM with no plated parts. The kit is also boxed as an RoG kit. Might be a connection there. -
A man goes to see his doctor. The doctor asks what the problem is. Well doc, I've been having this recurring dream and it's driving me crazy. The doctor asks the man to describe it. Well it starts out with me being a wigwam, then I turn into a tepee. Then I'm a wigwam again, then a tempee. This continues and I switch back and forth between them faster & faster until I wake in a sweat. You gotta help me, I'm going crazy. The doctor says you need to relax, you're two tents.

Although a lot of my buddies at the time thought it was great, I'll have to say Phantasm. Pretty goofy. Danny Partridge with long hair & and a pinball with wings. -

Hi, just one. Krylon satin periwinkle. I used the rear pan and top of the engine from the newer release of the Aka Kart. Wheels/tires from a Monogram '30 ford. The headlights are Ala Kart inserts fitted into the housings of the AMT '53 ford P/U custom grill. Headers were found in the parts box. Quick change rear from a NASCAR truck kit, and adapted to the kit axle.

Can't say I've seen one of these before, built or otherwise. Really, really nice. Great choice of color.

Man, that paint is flawless. Love the interior work too.
