  1. What are the rates like at the Motel 6? I'm driving down, so I'm not worried about transportation.
  2. I just found the rates and don't think I'll be staying for that kind of $$$ when I'm that close to home. I'd rather use that money at the vendors.
  3. I'm not sure if I'll make it, but I'm sure going to try. I'm only 2 to 3 hours away, so I'll drive, but I might stay for a night or two. Where is the show held, and where is the best place to stay, if I decide to do so, and what are the rates like? Is it held at a hotel, or some other facility?
  4. I wasn't suggesting that typical American cars be used in the Auto ID quiz(wouldn't be much of a challenge). I just think a real or model, every now and then, would be interesting, and more people could get involved than the usual people who participate in the Auto ID. That's all.
  5. Will the embossing heat guns, like Hobby Lobby sells, work for this or are those too hot, or not hot enough?
  6. I thought it was a little strange too, but since she told me this, I've started looking behind the older models. Just today I found the 65 Riviera tucked behind a Foose El Dorado.
  7. I liked the R or M a lot more than trying to ID some weird, obsolete European cars that nobody has even heard of. At least everyone had a chance to play, and not just the same 6 or 8 guys that get the answer every week.
  8. If I woke up without aches and pains, I'd think I was dead.
  9. I don't really know, I just go by what she told me(she's been in the model dept. since the store opened). That's probably true with resets, but I think they can choose to get more of what's selling, and decline getting more of what's not selling. I guess you'd have to work there to really know how it works.
  10. Yes they've had it here for 2or3 weeks, I bought the 1st one they got. Find the person in charge of the model department, and ask them if they have it. I asked the girl, who was stocking shelves if they had gotten anything new, and she moved an older model, and pulled the Imperial out from behind it. She said that if a new kit is replacing an old one, they put the new one behind the one that it's replacing. She also said that they only get one at first, and then order more when it sells. I told her I'd take it, and she said she'd order some more, and shortly after that the shelf was full, and has been ever since.
  11. When will the build video be out?
  12. What do you suppose the "handmade items" included in the sealed kit are?
  13. I used one of the cans I had that was leaking, and it seemed to work fine.
  14. I vote for NO skirts, looks much better without them.
  15. I'd love to find one of those, but even if I did, I don't have that kind of money.
  16. The only one I've really wanted, but never found is a 69 Superbee in 1/25, so I could build the one I had back in my youth.
  17. I agree, some of us do not deal with 1/24 scale kits.
  18. My HL, just recently got the Nova, and Chevelle, and hasn't even gotten the 34 pickup yet, so I doubt they will be on clearance. They have a lot of old kits that have been on the shelves forever that would make more sense to discount.
  19. I like the Key and Peale license plates.
  20. Steve, I don't think there's any competition that's beyond your abilities. Not sure I'll make it either, but if I do, it will just be to attend, not compete(it is beyond my abilities).
  21. I'm gonna try make it to my 1st GSL this year. I'm only a couple hours from Salt Lake City, and that's about as far as I'll get this summer.
  22. Steve and Khils are both great guys, I'd like to meet them both(GSL anyone?). I might just go this year(funds permitting).
  23. I didn't know it was going to be a 4x4. That's cool!
