Does anyone know where I can get a set of 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton 6 or 8 lug wheels? The Monogram Ford 3/4 ton has 5-lug wheels.

That is some awesome work, very well executed. Lots of detail to keep you looking. I've often wondered how they could do these things without showing any body damage to the vehicle.

Hot rod 37 ford
TarheelRick replied to Patrick J's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Actually, that is what I thought may be the situation. There appears to be an area between the tailgate and roll pan that could hold one of those LED strip lights. I am incorporating that very idea on a 57 Chrysler that I am customizing. -
Hot rod 37 ford

Very nice build except for the lack of a blue oval in the engine bay?. Beautiful paint work and color, and really like the smoothness of the whole build. BTW, where are the taillights? -
Was cruising through WalMart looking for some Christmas gift packaging and happened to notice a model display in the aisle of the toy department. All of the Coke kits are marked at $19, but they have a fair selection of older releases: 65 Bonneville, 53 Ford Pickup, Bulldozer, etc. Most of them are shelf marked at $21.97 and up. I picked up the 64 Olds hardtop, when I checked out it rang at $15. I may need to go back and see how well my luck holds out.

Vintage Revell Parts Packs -complete set
TarheelRick replied to Rocking Rodney Rat's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Getting in on this topic a bit late, but I would really like to see some of the Revell engine kits back on the market. I have a few of the Ford 427 engines, and one each of the 283 Chevy and the "354" Cadillac. Also have the AMT competition parts pack which includes the 23 T altered body, Allison engine, Pontiac, Hemi, and Corvair engines. Could really use more of the Cadillac engines. Also would like to see some of the custom parts packs return. I like to build all-out customs and using the kit parts does not always fulfill my lustful desires. -
Very nice build. I especially like the color. I had a 1:1 '65 SS Chevelle that was almost that color, just a bit darker. One observation I have made of these AWB kits is that there is no support for the front fenders. Since most were fiberglass they would not last very long without some form of support. Still, I really like this build.

Looks to be an interesting build. As an aside, my late uncle owned a '41 pickup with a Ford 292 4 bbl, and a Packard 3-speed transmission. I loved that truck. He took a short trip once and left it in my care, I had a ball driving it. Then I went in the military. A few years later I came home and the truck was gone. I asked my uncle about it and he said he had sold it; he got $500 for it. I almost cried; I would have gladly doubled that amount. Anyway looking forward to your build.

Fixing or replacing clear parts
TarheelRick replied to T-Ray's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Wonder if this would work to make a 1:1 replacement for my 1:1 Pinto? Replacements are impossible to find. -
I also have this kit in my stash. I have looked at it several times and put it back on the shelf. My ambition is not quite as strong as yours, so I am considering using it for parts. Those big old fins would look really good on a '50's style custom, as would the quad headlights. I am also considering a small diorama using the two figures included. Really like the approach you are taking with this build, will definitely be watching.

Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
TarheelRick replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I picked up a couple of fairly nice original Fords at an auction. The '61 Starliner is in pretty good shape so I may just clean it up a bit, do some detail paint in the interior, clear and polish the outside and keep it as a survivor. The '64 Galaxie didn't get along very well with the wheels/tires. I have a Texas 3D 2X4 SOHC and some 9.5" slicks that will turn this one into a fictitious B/FX drag car with working lights. The kit has all the parts for this option and they have never been installed. -
#222 hit my NC mailbox today. Very good issue, covered the CKM show, one of my local favorites. Also a couple of good builds and several recent release reviews.

Thursday afternoon I got a 'text' from my 'bank' asking about a purchase made on Amazon. I was supposed to reply with a number they gave me in the text. Friday morning I checked my Amazon account to see if I had made some purchases and had forgot about them. I found no new charges, so I went to my bank. The lady told me the bank would never require me to reply with a number. She checked my account and there were two recent small amount purchases for Amazon. I had her cancel the purchases. She kept my debit card and gave me a temporary one to use until my new one arrives. Now I will have to change card numbers at several different locations. I am really thrilled with the "security" of on-line transactions, that is why I still write checks for all my bills.

Amen to that!

Some very nice artwork. Especially like the detail work on "The Judge".

Haven't noticed any relevant changes, still have to use Firefox to submit reply to a topic.

1997 McLaren-Mercedes F1
TarheelRick replied to bbowser's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Real race car tires will pick up all forms of debris after a few laps, so those small spots just add realism. Very well done build. I have never tried one of these, although I do have one in my stash. -
AMT 1961 Ford Galaxie hardtop, any news?
TarheelRick replied to PintoKING's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This is a build I did several years ago. Got the vacuformed glass from Modelhaus. Roof fit just fine. -

Really nice '63 Dennis. -
Grump would have bit his cigar in half behind the wheel of this monster. Very nicely done.

This is definitely award winning work. As Ace said, I have kept pictures of the Oldsmobile with the thought in mind of attempting to build it; your build is amazing. As to the Pontiac this is the first time I have ever seen it. Wish I could offer some suggestions to solving the problem with the canopy, but I have never tried that. Keep at it and you will find a solution. This build must be completed, it is too beautiful and too much work to put back into a box.

OK, you had me with "65 Chevelle. I owned one, not a Z16, but a 283 4 speed, and it was just about the same color, although not as metallic. I have two of these in my stash and am planning on building one to replicate the one I owned. I really like your idea with the holes for the PE. I have that PE set and was under the impression you had to remove the complete grille section then bend the PE to shape to fit the hole. I like your approach better and may make me move my build up the ladder quicker. Will definitely be following this build watching for any problem areas.

As if a stock Cobra was not bad enough, you went and added a whole lot more to it. Excellent concept and beautiful build.

Really like the way this is coming together. Here are a couple of pictures for encouragement. I realize it is not a '62, but it is still a C1 Vette
