Have to completely agree with all the above, that is one beautiful Model A. Your color choice is outstanding.

Really nice looking Hornet, those colors go together quite well. I do not envy you the chrome on this beast. What is your choice of punishment - BMF, Molotow, or paint.

That is one flat-out wicked looking Corvette. Everything works so well together - the wheels, the colors, and that engine just makes it one awesome ride.

Very pretty Chevelle, that yellow fits it so well. And as mentioned the tan interior is an excellent choice.

Inspiration Build
TarheelRick replied to TarheelRick's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Not going to make the CKM deadline, since it is this coming Saturday and I am not even in final primer on the body. Still need to fabricate an interior, do some more body work, finish the frame extension, and get an engine built. Here is where I am right now. The suspension will be raised just a fraction to clear the tires, may have to open the fender wells a bit. Those are some rather large tires, but they measure out at 20" by 31" which is the size on my 1:1. -
I love customs, it's going to be interesting following this one.

Post your truck mockups.

Here are a few shots of my F-125 (crossbreed between F-100 and F-150). Wanted to get it done in time for the CKM show this coming week-end, but time ran out on me. Still a lot of body work to do, then have to scratchbuild/kit-bash an interior, and finally get the chassis finished, just got the extension done this morning. It will be a little bit taller, but not much, just enough to clear the tires. The 1:1 is the inspiration for this build. I have a bottle of paint that exact color. -
Two wheel drive 72 Blazer
TarheelRick replied to jdhog's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Going to be an interesting build. Saw a lowered 2WD on a trailer a few months back, looked quite different from what I am used to. Also as Greg said I am not a fan of those type wheels. They are directional which makes them more of a challenge to get correct. -
Noticed Ace-Garageguy hasn't been on site since 7/22

You have a pm. -
Love the Blue Oval and that is one fine collection of them. Would have to say I am torn between the 40 and the 58 T-Bird, both are beautiful. But then the rest of the bunch is quite fine looking also.

Tale of three trailers is now complete....
TarheelRick replied to khier's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Some nice looking trailers. One suggestion is to move the axles a bit rearward. It may be the way they are presented in the photos, but each one appears to be too far forward, which would make the trailer almost impossible to tow and would cause them to sit tail-down nose-up when disconnected. As a former welder I have built a few trailers and that was a mistake I made on the first one. -
Looking forward to this build. I have one in the "thought" process based on one I saw at the Southeast Gasser race at North Wilkesboro a couple months back. Either will need to get some decals made or as you said "wing it" with my own design.

1923 Ford Model T Fire Truck
TarheelRick replied to Bobchayer's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice build, especially seeing it is not made from plastic. Paint work is outstanding. -
One of my favorite models of Ford, something about those teardrop headlights really appeal to me. Now about this build, beautiful in every sense of the word. Your color choice works well together. Particularly liked the interior shot, those seats look so real, excellent job.

There was one episode of "Stoney Burke" that had him racing a short track in order to 'fend off those evil racers' from taking over the rodeo arena, or something to that effect. He drove a '55 Chevy dirt-track car, and of course he won the race.

Just came to mind "Viva Las Vegas' worth watching just for the shots of Ann Margaret. Elvis did a couple others with a racing theme also.

That is one beautiful Mustang, that color really sets it off. Only problem I see is that there is way too much tread on those rear tires, they should have been melted off by now. Really like your build of this model, wish I hadn't sold mine.

Already did, I can have that option added at an extra cost.

Went down into my basement this morning to take something out of the freezer to begin thawing for tonight's dinner. There was a puddle of water running out from under the freezer and when I opened the door everything inside was soft, which means there had been no freezing for several hours. I now have an upright container full of worthless food which I will have to get rid of and replace. The freezer is less than two years old. I will be getting in touch with Frigidaire and Home Depot.

A couple of older movies that are really good "Thunder in Carolina" the (late '50's) early days of stock-car racing. Another good one is "Last American Hero" roughly based on the life and racing career of the late Junior Johnson. Then of course there are the Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello movies "Fireball 500" and can't remember the other one right off-hand.

Kenworth conventional
TarheelRick replied to Bronzekeg's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Pretty, well-built rig. Would have liked to see it with a lighter or white background so those beautiful colors would stand out more. Very impressive build. -
You have captured this car perfectly IMHO. I am a big Sox & Martin fan, have been since the early Chevrolet days. Everything about this build is beautiful, your paint separation is right on. Looking forward to more beautiful build such as this, although I don't think any will be able to match Sox & Martin.

ATTENTION DATE CHANGE FOR CKM SUMMER CLASSIC
TarheelRick replied to VW93's topic in Contests and Shows
Not sure of my wardrobe yet, but it will either be a t-shirt with "Glory Days" and a picture of a Willys gasser, an FED dragster and an altered, or my red Ford t-shirt with the F-1-100 series trucks on the back.
