  1. Very well done!! It looks really good in that color. We have a 1:1 '56 T-bird in our stable that is a very similar color, that was also supposed to be a special order t-bird only color, but I think if the color of the handshake was gold you could have had any car in any color you wanted!
  2. That's really trippin' man!
  3. Very well done! Always like to see the more unusual subjects!
  4. Very nice work, really like the interior!
  5. One I can't stand is "join the club"!! Especially when used by someone with a long history of poor financial planning skills towards someone who is known to be financially responsible, when the latter has just explained to the former that they have decided not to spend any money unnecessarily for a while! I really have no intention of joining anyone's "broke club"!
  6. Great looking model, as usual, Tulio, but, you have been showing us a lot of Chevys lately! You're not switching sides on us, are you?!!
  7. Very nicely done!
  8. Nicely done Harry!
  9. Yeah, you're right, it is nice looking for a custom, and may actually yield some useful parts, but you still can't beat a Cadillac from the days when the name actually meant something!
  10. Very beautifully done Nie! That is a great looking car.
  11. A '48 Cadillac convertible that has never been issued in kit form before, but no stock build option? Isn't there some kind of law against cruel and unusual punishment?!
  12. Last summer my parents drove in a caravan of Model As from suburban Detroit to Niagara Falls for the national Model A convention, they were among the youngest in the group of about six As, they are both in their 70's!
  13. An 18ft. long, 6ft. wide steel box that weighed 2-3 tons was the only "safety device" you needed back then!
  14. I partially agree with your analysis, Bill, (which are always quite well informed) because I always decide what I am willing to pay, i.e. what is it "worth" to me, for an item before I go looking for it. Yes, I too, try to learn what other items like it may be going for as opposed to what I am willing to pay, sometimes I decide that the figures are just too far apart, and I decide against a purchase. Unfortunately, in my experience, those pig-greedy sellers and vendors just never seem to go away, in fact, often result in others raising their asking prices for equivalent items.
  15. Tim is right, a Ranchero would be an obvious, and rather simple, next step to take with those molds.
  16. Very nice work Joe! Rob is on to something with his Nomad idea, but, how about cutting part of the roof off to make it an El Camino style truck?
  17. Very nice, don't actually see too many of those Fairlanes!
  18. Yes it is, unfortunately there are no regulations regarding how much they can ask for their items. That is why ebay has all but destroyed good old-fashioned swap meets, because the ones that actually set up at them have the same items arranged in the same way at every meet for some times years on end, on ebay they don't actually have to offer their items at a more reasonable price, they just let it go around in a continuous loop until they find a sucker!
  19. Very nicely done Yuri!
  20. Many dealers/vendors would like you to believe that their item is the only one like it, anywhere, that we should feel privileged that they would be willing to sell it to us for whatever amount they are asking.
  21. Very nice work Jan!
  22. Thanks for the input guys! Like some of you have mentioned, I also check all my accounts at least once a week, pull a credit report once a month, very rarely sign up for automatic payments, etc., etc., but they got me anyway! But, that was my idea in starting this thread, was for some to share their stories with everyone, so if anyone here still thinks that this type of activity is very rare, or won't happen to them, that no matter how careful you try to be, it can, and unfortunately these days, probably will happen at some point!
  23. Coming along very nicely Steve, keep up the good work!
  24. I think it was probably cloned Bill, maybe someone with a scanner of some sort walked up next to me and got the number while it was in my wallet in my pocket!
