  1. Clearly Scale have a couple of version of the 16V engine. I've built one, and it's excellent.
  2. DPNM is super easy to trade with. No complaints at all. And as an aside, shipping from the US to Canada is only about 2 weeks right now. Seems to be slightly faster from Canada to the US.
  3. Excellent work! And I sure like letting you guys finish your builds before I start mine! Now I know some of the trouble spots I may run in to! In looking at parts, I noticed my hood was seriously warped. Reached out to A&N and they sent out a new one in really short time. And it looks perfect. I want to get started on it soon.
  4. Correction, It's NO LONGER a political discussion because the blatantly political posts have been removed. Anyway... Personally, I like the idea of EV vehicles. I see it as a definite viable alternative for my transportation needs in the future. But we're not there yet, not by a long shot. The infrastructure is years away from being able to support mass adoption of EV vehicles. And right now, I would have to adjust my lifestyle too much to make an EV fit. And I'm not changing my habits for a vehicle. Once the tech, the range, and the capabilities fit my lifestyle, then I would consider looking a little harder at putting an EV in my garage. Until then, I still think there is plenty of life left in ICE technology.
  5. People staying home a lot more over the past 18 months, looking for stuff to do. And perhaps tired of looking at screens too? I know when I go to my local stores, the shelves are definitely being restocked on a regular basis. They tell me sales are excellent, which is great to hear.
  6. A lot of people of a certain age like to lump those who support EVs into the same group. In reality, you have the EV fan boys. Those are the ones who worship Elon Musk and Steve Jobs, and blindly accept everything they do as being innovative and amazing. Even though their precious Tesla (although very cool, and very fast) is kind of a quality nightmare. Then you have the realists, which is where I feel I land. I like the idea of EVs. I am all for vehicles with performance improvements and EVENTUALLY environmental improvements too. But the industry is nowhere near that yet. The infrastructure required to support mass adoption of EV vehicles just isn't there yet. But it will be. And the charging times need to come down significantly. And the range needs to improve. And all of that will come eventually. Earlier this year, the Canadian gov't has introduced and passed a bill that will see all new vehicles 1/2 ton or smaller be required to have an EV powertrain. No gas or diesel unless it's a larger truck or van. And that was scheduled to go into effect by 2030. Or maybe it was 2035. Can't recall. But we have some time to figure it out. And I believe European countries have mandates coming into effect much sooner. So far, most European marques have said that by the end of the decade they will be entirely EV powered, or will be almost fully EV powered. Personally, I'm not willing to adjust my driving style or habits to suit a vehicle. A vehicle has to fit my lifestyle. That means it needs to be able to do my usual commute, which is 70% highway/30% city. It needs to be able to tow our trailer. It needs to be able to fit a family of four and a dog and our stuff. It needs to be able to venture off pavement for a weekend of adventure and hiking and camping. From May through September this year I had a new Ford F150 Limited with the hybrid engine. Overall, I was disappointed. Plenty of power, could tow our trailer with ease, fit all of us, etc. put around 16,000km on it during that time. Average fuel economy was around 11.5L/100km, which matched that of the Sierra 1500 AT4 with the 6.2L engine I had in early 2020. It took $140CDN to fill the tank, and that would get me about 900km, with about 200km of that in pure electric mode. Overall, not the improvement I would have hoped for with this powertrain. I'm still looking forward to seeing what the future is bringing us.
  7. I'd buy one or two for sure. Build one of these perhaps.
  8. I'll admit, I'm surprised that Rustoleum responded with as much info as they did. As literally EVERYONE here has told you over your previous threads, you need to start mixing and practicing. As you have said, that is of course a waste of paint and money, because some of those tests won't get you the results you want. Have you reached out to the world's leading authority on everything painting? Andy X? What does he say about your predicament? I'm assuming that you have reached out to him. Or maybe you have exhausted that avenue, now you want a book on the subject. Collectively, the members of this board have tried to assist, multiple times, and they know more about airbrushing and getting great paint results than any single author out there. Yet, you still do not take anyone's advice. At this point, I can't tell if you are trolling the board or are actually serious about this.
  9. I think it's cool. As they said in the video, since the 60s this car has always been a test bed for new technology and new ideas. Going with an EV is just the latest step. And at some point in the future, that EV powertrain will get swapped out for something else. Looking forward to seeing video of it on the strip. I suspect your theory is way off. EVs back in the 70s were a blip, but the current generation is here to stay. With governments around the world mandating the ban of internal combustion engines, plus manufacturers around the world committing to eliminating ICE within the next 10 years, this EV "fad" is not going away. As was previously hinted at, the switch from ICE to EV is as monumental is the switch from horse & buggy to the horseless carriage. Better get used to it, because in a decade you won't be able to walk into a dealership and buy a new car with an ICE.
  10. That's pretty wild. Excellent work on the build!
  11. Looks great!
  12. The Ram 3500 is available with the 6.4L Hemi gas engine and the 6.7L Cummins diesel. The kit NEEDS to have the Cummins! Personally, I would have made a Ram 5500 chassis cab instead. Still, I'll pick one of these up for sure.
  13. I like it. And it's a little more subtle than Jay Kay's LaFerrari!
  14. Watching this for sure. I have this one on the bench right now too. Built it (poorly) when I was in junior high school. Found another kit last year for cheap, and just started it a week or so ago. Still getting the body ready for primer and paint.
  15. I think electric car builders should allow clients to upload whatever piped in engine sounds they want. Need your Tesla to sound like a thumping big V8? No problem, upload the file. Want you Mach-E to sound like a Harley Fat Boy? No problem, upload the file. F150 Lightning sounding like a Kenworth? No problem, here's the file. Personally, I would want my EV to sound like The Jetsons' car.
  16. Looking excellent so far!
  17. 210 was printed and mailed. ?
  18. Nice find! There are so many older Tamiya kits I wish they would bring back. And the Jeep YJs are on that list! I have the convertible version on the bench. Been stalled for a while as I work on making decals for it.
  19. Whoa! Someone local to me! Very cool and ambitious project!
  20. 2003 Porsche Carrera GT Porsche 911 - various models for at least the last 10 years British cars in the 50s with wire wheels McLaren Senna 1963 Corvette Not common by any means, as for road cars they really make no sense due to the tools required and the torque involved to properly tighten them. For racecars though, these have less parts, and should speed up pit times. I find it amusing how upset people are with these new Nascars. The number of lugs holding the wheels on will not change the racing action. Neither will moving the car number a few inches forward.
  21. The funny thing is, he actually got me a job mowing lawns. Well, one lawn anyway. One of his co-workers had an acreage near us. I would spend a day a week out there mowing. He had about 5 acres. I'd head out in the morning, open the barn, grab the riding mower, put on the headphones, and just start going.
  22. Postal service for magazines seems very slow everywhere. My copy of 209 arrived on October 5. I have three other subscriptions that always arrive at least a month after I see them on the newstands.
  23. I was lucky. We never really had any oddball or strict rules when growing up. Just the usual stuff, clean up after yourself, be home at a certain time, no tv until homework is done. The only real oddball rule my dad had was that I was not allowed to mow the lawn. Not sure why, but he was adamant that I never do that. At first, I was all put out because I wanted to help. But it didn't take long to realize that this was a lot of work that would get in the way of fun. And I tell you, as soon as he was old enough to use the lawn mower and weed whacker, my boy took over lawn duty from me!
  24. Your wheel choice is so much better than on the 1:1 inspiration! I agree with Carl above, your mock up looks most excellent.
  25. I love it. And I want one.
