$7 million to build?! How is that even possible for a custom truck to cost that much?

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
iamsuperdan replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
A friend's bad fortune turns into some good fortune for me. Ended up stealing this thing. Early 90s Kramer Baretta II in the somewhat rare Champagne finish. In fantastic overall condition with no damage whatsover. Just needs a cleanup and a setup, which is on the cards for one evening this week. -
In my eyes, the wheels seem a little small, but the build is great. Paintwork is excellent!

Military Aircraft decals?
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
No, the kit only came with the decals for the standard RCAF version; bare aluminum fuselage with white wings. -

Military Aircraft decals?
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You sir, are fantastic. Thanks for that link, will be taking care of this shortly. The kit in the pic is even the same number as this image I've saved. Thanks for that! If you have some more pics of this one, that would be great! I have a few, but the more reference, the better! You can PM me, or I can PM you my email if that's easier. -
Most impressive. Looking forward to more updates!

When the project dies. Or does it?
iamsuperdan replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't give up on any kit. They may sit untouched for a while, but I will always go back and finish. Current benchwarmers include: Italeri Ferrari F40, started in the 90s, and has survived my non-building period. AMT Superstones Ford truck - I hate this kit. Body doesn;t fit right. But it is close to completion. Monogram Superbird - a rebuilder. I first built it in 1988 according to the writing I placed inside the kit. Many adventures rolling off a shelf led to broken biots, and eventually a box. Rebuilding it with a specific theme. Again, close, but not quite. Tamiya Mini Cooper - started in the 90s and like the F40, just never got done. -
Military Aircraft decals?
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yeah, you did. Questions section is NOT subject specific. And we have a section that specifically mentions planes. Thanks everyone that were able to be helpful! The exact one I want doesn't appear to exist, but there are a couple that are really close. Plus, it looks like custom making them might be an option. -

Wow. Great build, the weathering is bang on. And this is a perfect example of why pics should be taken outside. Enhances an already realistic build! -

Great to hear he's on the mend. I've emailed him a couple of times, but hadn't heard a response. I have a bunch of his product. VW Rabbit/GTI bits, seats, and a pile of stuff to put into a Hurst Olds. Quality is perfect. -

Zoinks! You did a great job. Different colour choice, and I like it. -
I love these malaise era cars! You did a great job on this one.

Great looking build. You nailed the stance on this one.

Military Aircraft decals?

Thanks guys! Will do some more searching tonight. On a side note, I find it ironic that Starfighter declas do not make decals for a Starfighter. -
Military Aircraft decals?
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yeah, we have a section called "All The Rest" and many here build other subject matters. ? -
Hey everyone, I don't normally build planes. Haven't built a plane kit since junior high, so 1987-ish, give or take. Since my dad passed last March, I have sort of inherited his modelling stash, and all he built were planes and ships. Instead of selling them all, I'm going to try something different and build a couple. Who knows...I might be good at this stuff! Anyway, the first one I'm going to try out is Hasegawa's 1/72 CF-104 Starfighter. I might build it as the RCAF version as suggested on the box, but I may also build an alternate RCAF version. Anyone have a good source for aftermarket aircraft decals? This is the version I like.

Roswell was a cover story for the real event in a different state. The crash, the ufo announcement, the retraction, the eyewitness reports...all a cleaver ruse to keep people's attention away from an actual event. There was a nuclear incident in Utah. A bombing test that went awry. How does the government avoid the publicity of that? Cover story.

Looks good! And natural light makes for better pics too, I find. -

You're right about the hood. I didn't even bother finishing the engine (hoses, etc) because the hood doesn't even open halfway. Besides, it's not like I'll display with the hood open, so it wasn't a big deal for me. Thanks everyone! -
