  1. It can be built stock? This moves it into the "I want one" category for me.
  2. Licensing, licensing, licensing. FCA are apparently one of the most expensive out there when it comes to obtaining the rights to the design. I think that's the main reason we've seen multiple versions of modern Camaros and Mustangs, but only multiple repops of the 09 Challenger SRT.
  3. Guys, keep it civilized. Had top do some cleanup. We're all grownups here, so there's no need to start with name calling and accusations. A lot of people here don't seem to like how auctions work. And some don't seem to even understand how they work. Maybe look in to that before commenting.
  4. I built this kit last summer. The body is fine enough, but the wheels are terrible, and it took a lot of fiddling and modifying to get them into a position that looked even remotely accurate. With the work you're putting in to this, it should turn out much nicer than mine did.
  5. Seems crazy to me, but if you want something bad enough, then you pay whatever it takes I guess. Explains how half the sales go at Barrett Jackson. I've never paid that much, but I'm sure I've over paid for kits, simply because it's a must have item for me. If ti's worth it to the buyer, then so be it.
  6. I like it! Especially the colour.
  7. I'm a big fan of Tool, have been since I first heard Undertow when it first came out. I have to say though, I have not been as big a fan of their last couple of albums. In fact, Aenima is the last album of theirs that I truly enjoyed all the way through. Those early albums had riffs and hooks and melodies that stick with me. 10,000 Days, Lateralus, Fear Innoculum...great albums, but no earworms anywhere to be found. Still, amazing band. And if you ever get the chance to see them live, DO IT.
  8. Zoinks! This will be interesting to follow I'm sure!
  9. Folks, this is exactly why we should all be taking pics outside! The lighting is perfect and I think emphasizes the build. Which is also pretty dang good!
  10. You need to post up a paint tutorial. Your builds are always finished perfectly. This is no exception.
  11. Still my fav truck body of all time. My wife was driving a 91 when I met her, and I had a 97 a couple of years ago to be a dump hauler for some yard/house reno projects. And WILL be buying another at some point.
  12. I have this kit in a box. I built it back in the 80s when I was in junior high, and it's one of the few that survived. A couple of years ago, I disassembled it with the intent to rebuild it, and improve on it. I hardly painted it, didn't sand much, basically hacked it together. I can do better now. I need to get on that.
  13. Music is my biggest hobby. Whether it's buying/discussing/listening to it, or reading about it, or playing/buying/building guitars, I love it all. I've been playing for about 30 years now. I've sold a few of the guitars that I never played, so I'm down to about 20 right now. With a couple on the work bench. Only a couple of amps though.
  14. Very cool! I've flown Harbour Air a few times on trips to Vancouver. Maybe next time I'll be able to give this a try.
  15. I build and paint/refinish guitars. This 7-string Explorer body was just finished. And I'm working on this BC Rich Warlock for my daughter. Before After: White base coat with a unicorn pattern on top.
  16. Having owned a 2017 F350 Platinum, I know what you mean. Not just for trailering, the bed on those trucks is ridiculously high. I'm 6'6" and I had issues with being able to easily reach into the bed to grab stuff. Our trailer was a bumper pull, so that wasn't an issue for us, but for everything else...yikes. Here's my old 2017.
  17. Personally, I like kits that don't come molded with chromed pieces. Kit chrome always looks too bright, too toy-like. I almost always end up stripping chrome trees anyway.
  18. Thanks everyone! Leslie, I'll have to search for one of those, as I think that's close enough for what I want to try. Roof line is a non-issue, and I'd be cutting that off anyway.
  19. I've done some google searching and have come up empty, so I have a questions for the 50s car experts. Has a 1958 Cadillac Series 62 convertible ever been kitted? If not, is there any Cadillac kit that would make a reasonably close fascimile? I'm no Cadillac expert, but i have an idea for one of these. Thanks!
  20. I knew was having health issues, but was kind of surprised to hear she was in her 60s! Never my type of music, but wow could she sing.
  21. Currently working on some ideas for the walls. I would prefer to go with styrene sheets to simulate brick on the front of the building, and cinder block for everywhere else. But that styrene sheet is kind of pricey around here, so I'm experimenting with photoshop and various photo papers. Will give this a try, and if it turns out well, then I'm happy and have saved money. And if it doesn't, then I can still go buy some styrene and cover up whatever mess I've made! I've been amassing a healthy selection of shop tools and decor, and have people. Will be the first time I've ever tried painting figures, so this should be interesting. Actually, this entire project will be full of firsts for me.
  22. Fully expecting another Dann-quality build here. And it's great to see a direct comparison between kits. I daresay this will help a few people wondering which kit to buy.
  23. Not my usual taste, but this is a beautifully built car. Love love love the paint.
  24. Picked up my new truck on Friday. 2020 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss. First roadtrip to the mountains happens on Thursday.
  25. Might as well upgrade, consider the car needed a few touchups after Skyfall.
