  1. Wow. That auction is amazing. Literally dozens of solid project vehicles there. If that was local, I'd be signing up to bid.
  2. Picked this thing up on Friday. 1999 Tahoe LT. Zero rust, one owner, stack of regular maintenance records, relatively low km. This has always been my favourite body style of truck/suv, and the pricing was crazy cheap. Could not turn this one down. Not sure what I'll do with it, but it should keep me occupied for now. Step one, figure out parking. As you can see, the driveway is full, and what you can't see is that the garage is full as well.
  3. Paintwork is excellent.
  4. I like it! Colour choice is great. i know what you mean on the side markers. I've built the standard Tamiya Porsche 996, and those front markers had to be shaved down too.
  5. I only ever use primer on the body and chassis, never on engines/drivetrains, and rarely on interior pieces.
  6. I only ever use Tamiya paints. A lot of the time, I find they need a couple of coats, so I just brush on two light coats. Rarely try to get full coverage on the first try. Seems to work for me.
  7. Brushed on. I currently do not have an airbrush, although it's on my list of things to buy and experiment with!
  8. A few more... These ATMs are getting a little close to home. Finally, received this in my email today. Made me chuckle.
  9. I'm glad I saw the other thread, otherwise I'd have no idea what you guys are on about. This whole Dagmar thing. My old guitar instructor's wife was all Dagmar-equipped. This was late 80s. My friends and I busted many a gut whenever we saw her/them.
  10. Man, sorry to say, but I feel so much younger than you guys right now. lolz. In addition to the models I would build. this was my pre-guitar/music childhood. I remember this was a huge deal the Christmas I got it. Within an hour of unwrapping it, and putting in the multitude of batteries, I had this thing doing laps of the house and scaring the cat. My first RC toy from Radio Shack. This is still in my parents' basement in a box somewhere. Come to think of it...it's probably stored with the Big Trak above. My first video game console. Was so happy about this. It's all we did on rainy days. Had a Redline RL20 almost identical to this. Mastered flat land tricks. Then did a jump, snapped the frame, and got into skateboarding. And this game was kind of a Dungeons & Dragons style game. Role playing, dice, cards, the whole thing.
  11. Currently nothing with wheels. Although I am hunting!
  12. That's what I use as well. Just need more practice I guess!
  13. Excellent job! Extra compliments on your masking of the window trim. That masking is always a bugger for me. Hard to get perfect. But you have mastered it. What's your secret?
  14. Holy moly, this is some nonsense. Sorry to say, but I run an adblocker. Even when disabled though, the site looks nothing like this for me. As Mike (Xingu) said above, this is being discussed right now, and we are looking at options to help with the problem. Hang tight, we're trying.
  15. Can never have too many Porsches! Watching for sure.
  16. Yup, dead link. Without saying too much, there's a few changes coming to the board, and that link will disappear.
  17. Sorry to read this. The loss of a pet is always tough. My mum recently had to say goodbye to her black lab, Isabelle. She was also 13 years old, with bad arthritis.
  18. I've been enjoying all of the articles about build quality on this car. Missing and loose screws, paint issues, etc. Good stuff. The markup dealers are trying to get is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous are those willing to pay it. I daresay it will be a lot like the Hellcats a few years ago. Price gouging and nonsense for the first year, stale inventory and discounts after that. Personally, I'd be more interested in the grey AEV Bison parked in front of it. Any pics of that? Lolz.
  19. Got some paint on the cab over the past few days. The pile of unattached parts is dwindling, so that means I must be making progress! Not happy with the chrome on this one. Not sure if it's because it's an old kit, or if it's just a cheap chrome job, but when removing from a sprue, or sanding from surfaces to be glued, the chrome just flakes off in sheets.Luckily, the Molotow chrome pens come to the rescue, but still.
  20. Social distancing. (only a few here will get this one)
  21. Love these kits. You did a great job on yours!
