  1. Hobby Wholesale is okay, I was actually just in there on Sunday. WIngs & Wheels in Toronto has been great to deal with. No online store, but if you know what you want, give them a call or shoot them an email. I've ordered quite a bit from them. The main guy there is Ivan. Which island are you on?
  2. I like it! The overall look kind of reminds me of Goliath, the Pete 352 from Knight Rider.
  3. Wow, this is a pretty big group participating this year!
  4. What about Magic Box Hobbies? They're in Vancouver, and I stop in there every time I'm in the area. Even take the afternoon and bomb in from Whistler when I'm there! I've always found their selection to be excellent, of both Japanese and domestic kits.
  5. Whoa! Very, VERY nice collection of builds there! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
  6. I always keep instructions, along with one end panel from the box. I keep them in a binder full of those plastic pocket sleeve things. Not sure why, but I do it anyway.
  7. Only since October? D*mn. So sorry to read this. I understand fully. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma last Dec 27th. March 4th we said goodbye. We try to take comfort in the knowledge of it being a short fight, not prolonged and drawn out. Doesn't make it any easier though.
  8. I never get tired of Porsche builds! Looking forward to watching this progress.
  9. Watching. I have this kit in the stash, and have been considering moving it up the queue.
  10. Weather is exactly why the world is not fully rerady for electric vehicles. At least, not MY world. Canada is not designed for electric vehicles. Long distances between the major centers, and with temperatures below freezing for much of the year, range is severely limited. Still, for the southern US? 600 mile range sounds pretty good. The quick chargers for Audi e-tron or the Tesla cars can fill a battery from 1/4 to full charge in a little over an hour. So in theory, a Tesla truck driver could stop for lunch, and by the time he's done, his truck is at 100% and he's good to go. The big issue is infrastructure. There need to be a heck of a lot more charging stations before this can be a viable alternative to a diesel truck. Not to mention the need to upgrade the entire power grid. And at the end of the day, it really isn't saving the environment. Battery production, power plants, charging stations...all of those take energy and resources and create pollution. Does it really offset the exhaust and use of fuel? And really, even at our worst, North America and Europe combined generate far less pollution and environmental impact than India or China on their best days. So at the end of the day, I don't think what we do makes that big of an impact at all. Still, I like the concept, and I think there is a market for this. Just not where I live.
  11. https://www.thedrive.com/news/29449/tesla-semi-prototype-spotted-hauling-75000-pound-load-through-northern-california Interesting for sure. Will be interesting to get verification of the range, and how long it will taker to fully charge the batteries.
  12. Probably my fav GL build that I've seen. Not's not accurate...yet somehow still is. The little tweaks you made, the extra details, just adds up to an excellent build.
  13. Nice clean build!
  14. Photos are working just fine up here in the Great White North. Excellent write up. I think even I could follow those instructions and get the right result!
  15. As a Canadian, my only knowledge of Imus was through Howard's show. Although they sparred, I think there was a mutual respect there. Will be interesting to see what Howard says when he's back from his Christmas break.
  16. A Tele with a single humbucker is right up my alley. I'd simplify even further, and ditch the tone and three way switch. I love simple, even though I have never built simple!
  17. I could see Moebius doing a new truck kit. I mean, they did the Prostar and Lonestar kits, and they cast new trailers, so I place my hopes there. Having said that, I'm wondering how excellent (and expensive) a Meng 1/24 truck would be!
  18. Awesome. Can't say I have ever seen you tackle something not European. Except for the Invader of course. As always, watching, drooling, taking notes.
  19. I figured it out. I'll be doing Revell's Kenworth COE Aerodyne. Will have a trailer of some sort, will confirm before January 1st.
  20. 90 degree ends on your cables help solve the jack problem too! I've been running those for years. Doesn't stick out any further than the knobs, so little chance of catching them on something.
  21. You should be just fine with that plan. As long as you still run a ground wire to the bridge, there should be no issues. It works for the JB!
  22. Although being molded in colour would never dissuade me from buying a kit, I do wish everything was molded in either white or light grey.
  23. I really like the colour choices on this one.
  24. Personally, I'd love to see more newer trucks. I know there's a place for the traditional Kenworths and PEterbilts. I've built a bunch, I have a ton in the stash, and I still enjoy building them. But let's see some new subject matter. Mack Anthem Freightliner Cascadia Personally, I would LOVE a Mercedes Zetros 6X6 kit. Forget that puny sissy Unimog!
