So I emailed Round2, just to see if they would respond. According to Douglas in their customer support department, it is 100% a licensing issue with Bandag, and whoever owns the brand now.

Highway thru Hell
iamsuperdan replied to dieseldawg142's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
We're about 5 episodes in to the new season! New truck has not made an appearance yet, but it is in the opening credits. Jamie is still raving about how awesome old stuff is. -
I can't even believe I'm posting this. Really not happy with how this turned out, so maybe I'm just posting as a warning to others. This is a horrible kit. The instructions are ridiculously vague about placement of everything. Fuel tanks, battery box, side fairings, everything. Very little fit correctly, and it took an insane amount of test fitting, shaving, more test fitting, trimming, repeat, etc. This is the sort of kit, that when given to a child as a present, it killed their excitement for the hobby, and made them turn to video games. I know, I didn't paint the Kenworth emblems. Also missing the headlights. Joys of buying an old second hand kit I guess. From what I've seen here and online, I think I might be the first person to ever build it using the Canepa hubcaps. ? I also have an original issue Kenworth W925 on the bench, 70s issue I believe, and it's surprising how much of that kit is in this newer kit. Almost the entire chassis, the engine, tanks, battery, most of the interior. Almost completely interchangeable. In fact, if the W925 kit didn't have the rear torsion bar suspension, I daresay I could have swapped the bodies between the two with no problems. And the instructions are slightly better too. I have the standard T600A in the stash. Not sure how badly I want to build that one now. Anyway, here is what a year of on/off cursing and building ended up like. The trailer is the Moebius 53ft, built a year or so ago. Went together perfectly.

Awesome to see a kit manufacturer doing some new tooling. -
I can hear the difference between this guitar and the clip you posted the other week of your Ibanez! I like this tone much better!

Not really UFO related, but an absolutely fantastic book is "Who Built The Moon?" by Christopher Knight and Alan Butler. Very well written, makes you think.

Statistically, when you look at how many millions of stars there are, and that each star has it's own set of planets, it would be pretty naive to think that this is the only one out of billions that has developed life.

Can we see your model stash?
iamsuperdan replied to Fifer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You know I think would be interesting? The ratio we all have of built to unbuilt. Rough calculation...for every completed model on my shelf, there's about 9 unbuilt in the stash. -
Long time MUFON member here, and actually doing the studying and the work to become a field investigator. I'm of the mindset that most of the encounters and incidents are of earthly origin; that the governments of the world do have tech that we are not privy to. Is any of it alien in origin? Unlikely, but one never knows. I keep an open mind about it for sure.

This describes at least half of the kits in my stash. Stuff I built when young, that eventually broke or was blown up or lost or whatever. And now I have the means to be able to buy those kits whenever I find them, and buy those kits I always wanted. And yes, EVERY one has a vision attached to it! -

Took me forever to find a Matador kit that wasn't ridiculously high priced! Glad I found one. We had a 73-74 Matador growing up. Lots of memories with that car. -

Are those white boxes all promo kits? Or resin kits? -
Wow. The realism on this is second to none. Absolutely amazing.

Demo derbys are the main reason I can't find a 70s station wagon to turn into a project car. lolz nice job on this one!

Some of these stashes are impressive to say the least. Now, I'm guilty of this too, so I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone, but... What's the point? I think a lot of us have more kits than we'll ever get around to building. I mean, there are a lot of people on this board in their 60s, and they have literally 100s of kits. The reality is, they won't all get built. It's like those guys that have an old muscle car rotting away on their property, but they are adamant that they'll get it fixed up. So why do we do it? I have no rational explanation for why i collect as many kits as I do. I always buy with great expectations and plans, but then the kit goes in the pile. -
Very strange, especially in light of the reissues of the Super Boss and Papa Truck. I'll still pick up both though.

To bring it into modern lexicon, the sign should read "I identify as an Indy race car!" Haven't seen you around for a while. Good to see you back!

Unless you're in Canada. He's been a staple since the Max Webster days. His solo work was even bigger here. -
Believe me guys, we are watching this thread. Keep it away from political parties, politicians, and specific opinions, and I think we'll be just fine.

It's the same here in Canada. Everyone complains, but voter turnout is traditionally weak. Although, over the past few elections, that has been changing, as we've had a few bad leaders, from multiple parties. Our electoral system is inherently broken though. Most Canadians will agree with me, regardless of political affiliations..

79 Jeep CJ7 floor
iamsuperdan replied to Andrew D the Jolly Roger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Jeep floors are painted body colour. The older models would have had carpeted floor coverings on the higher trim levels. The CJs would hjave been brown. The YJs had grey carpeting. The TJs had both tan and black. Carpets were never secured to the Jeep, they were always easily removable.
