  1. i can't imagine ever wanting to hang on to empty boxes. I don't have enough room for full boxes, let alone the empty ones! I usually just cut the front off and file it along with the instructions.
  2. I still have quite a few of my old Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. Safely in a box in our storage room here. One day I'll get them out and document them. I only have a couple of my old models. Most were either played with, or rolled off a shelf one too many times. Not sure where most of them ended up. One is under reconstruction now. I used to date my kits, and it was from February 1988. I was 15.
  3. Whoa. Glad this thread was resurrected. Van is killer. I love it!
  4. I have instructions for both the old AMT Kenworth cabover, and the old Kenworth conventional. If you need them, let me know and I'll be happy to scan them in for you.
  5. And as usual, another amazing performance from Dann! Your detailing, even on these "quick and simple" builds is amazing. Two critiques, if I may. Personally, I'd lower the front a smidge. Second, and there's not much we can do about this, the metallic flake looks too big. I've run in to that many times. Not sure if there's a fix. Doesn't bother me too much on my builds, but it is something I'd fix if I could. Love the colour choice though. Very period correct. Just needs a CD changer and a white brick cellphone! And maybe on the passenger seat, a mirror with some party dust.
  6. Just made a trade with Rusty92. Everything went perfectly, would 100% trade again!
  7. I know I told myself I wasn't going to start anything new until I cleared a few off the bench, but I think you all know how that goes. Opened up a kit that has been kicking around a while, Tamiya's Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. Nice simple curbside that should be a quick build and will look good on the shelf when done. I built one many years ago, along with the BTCC Volvo wagon, and the BTCC sedan. Annoys the heck out of me that I don;t have those anymore. Anyway... This will be interesting. The body has unfortunately seen better days. I'm think that once the glass is secured in place, this should straighten out. If anyone has any tips for dealing with this, I'd love to hear them! And I'm pretty sure this is what's left of the decal sheet. Although I have never seen old decals do this. There's some residue on the bags and in the box, so I'm pretty sure these just disintegrated over the years. No matter, I can recreate and make some new ones. And finally, I'm, pretty sure I won't be using this carpeting. Doesn't want to unroll very well.
  8. Finally got some better pics last night. Got some bench time in last night, doing some more painting of various things. just about at the point where all I need to do on the chassis is assembly...and some touchups. Will hopefully get the body painted soon.
  9. Really nice build. The paint work looks super smooth and just shines. Excellent work.
  10. Great job! Love the colour choices.
  11. Excellent build!
  12. Found this one. Pretty basic, but I love the subject matter.Pretty sure the supplied decals are unusable, but I'll figure something out.
  13. Amazing guitar player, amazing pioneer.
  14. Dang. That looks pretty amazing so far.
  15. I have a few on the go, mainly out of necessity. It gets colder here in the Great White North, eh? My garage is insulated, but not heated yet, so from November through to roughly now, I can;t do any spray painting. Which means I cannot complete bodies or frames, etc. So I start a kit, get as far as I can, then start another. I got some painting done on the week end though, so hopefully I can get some things completed. I'm trying really hard to not start anything new until at least a couple of these are done. Currently: Tamiya VW Golf Mk1 Kamei Racing Tamiya Toyota Land Cruiser VX80 AMT Kenworth T600A Canepa AMT - White Western Star AMT Ford Short Hauler (the Coke one) Fujimi Lamborghini Countach 5000 quattrovalvole Italeri Porsche 944 Turbo AMT Kenworth W925 Monogram Ferrari 512TR Fujimi Hino Super Dolphin Tractor & Car Hauler
  16. I have two that have been awful. First, the AMT Ford F250 Superstones truck. Does anything fit correctly on this kit? It's the only kit where I've put it back in the box and decided not to finish it. I grudgingly accept defeat. It won. Second, the Tamiya Golf Mk1 "Kamei" Racing. The kit is a simple curbside, but the Kamei paint scheme is killing me. It's been in the purple pond twice now. The bleeding through of the various colours and black trim has been horrible. I'm probably going to to pull it out of the bath it is currently in, and will come up; with my own paint scheme. Or maybe I'll give this Kamei scheme one last shot.
  17. Haven't had a lot of bench time this month for a variety of reasons. But the weather was beautiful this weekend, and I was finally able to get some painting done. First on the list, the Western Star. Got the frame painted. Edit: these pics suck. lolz. Will fix that this evening.
  18. So, if this is "not your average 1000hp 1966 Chevy Nova," I wonder, what does an average 1400hp Nova look like?
  19. This is looking fantastic. Credit card is on standby!
  20. Yup. Will be buying at least one of these. Probably a couple.
  21. I can't pick a favourite when it comes to subject matter, as my tastes are pretty diverse. For kit quality though, it has to be Tamiya.
  22. So how rare are these kits? Woudl be cool to find one. I would love it if someone would build a kit of the Cheetah's successor.
  23. I love this kit. Back in the 80s, we were visiting family in England, and I picked up the original molded in red ESCI kit. The one in the Ford promo box. Built it, thought it was awesome. One trip off the shelf too many, and it ended up in the bin. I have since bought four of the ESCI kits in all the available colours, and have two of these Italeri reissues. I have no idea why I'm so obsessed with this kit, but I am. Looking forward to seeing yours!
  24. I'm guessing maybe two or three people here at most have any idea who this is. But the music world lost another to suicide. Keith Flint of The Prodigy. Hugely influential to the music I wrote in the 90s.
  25. I watched this show religiously back in the day. And he was my fav character. And I have one of those trendy tat quotes. And it's from him. lolz "May the bridges I burn light my way."
