  1. 1. battery upgrade - increase capacity, or run at a higher voltage 2. additional motors or replacing with more powerful motors or internal parts 3. computer management - software tuning is already a big part of new builds. Modern LS, or a Coyote are prime examples. 4. inverter mods 5. battery cooling All of those can extract more power and performance from an EV. It's how Tesla, Ford, Porsche, Audi, etc can offer variants of their EVs with higher performance.
  2. My Rescue Van definitely does not have any of the A-Team specific parts with it.
  3. Watched a documentary on GIlles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt16306090/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_2_nm_2_q_villeneuve%20piron Thought it was really well done. And honestly, I had no idea who Didier Pironi was prior to watching this.
  4. I bought these files for a K!500 Crewcab. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/chevrolet-c-k-4th-gen-crew-cab The seats and dash are an improvement over the AMT parts for sure. Although the dash needs a little finessing to make it work. Overall shape is more accurate though. I'll track down some pics for you of the printed product.
  5. You're doing some excellent work on this one! Your front grille looks perfect. This has been my fav truck pretty much since they were first introduced. I've owned many over the years, and have collected a sizable stash of these OBS kits. I have one complaint with these kits though. No, not the one piece chassis. It's the interior. In particular, the seats. They are far too squared off and rectangular for me. And it's odd that they chose to mold it with front buckets and a console, as the bulk of these trucks would have had a front bench. That in itself isn't inaccurate, but it's an odd choice to me. Also, the dash. It's far to laid back. In reality, the cluster, radio, and hvac are much more upright. Luckily, there's accurate 3d printed options for a front bench seat and dash.
  6. A Formula E race is similar to an F1, Formula 2, or Formula 3 race, but has been shortened. Instead of one long race over a weekend, they do two shorter races. If an e-NASCAR series comes to fruition, they'd have to change the format. Ultimately, it would have to be a completely different format than what NASCAR is now. Using a music metaphor, the e-race would be the opening/warmup band, while the NASCAR race is the headliner. Much like how a Formula 1 race weekend has a Formula 2 race, a Formula 3 race, and (in Europe) the Porsche Supercup race. For the amount of money it costs for a weekend pass to a race, I think any additional racing you can see can only be a good thing.
  7. On a related note... https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/uncertain-t 1/12 scale for 3d printing. Appears to be about 75 separate files. No idea if it's accurate or not, and cannot attest to the quality of the files or subsequent prints.
  8. It's complete, and still available.
  9. Oh, and if you bothered to look through the Trading Post, I know of at least one Daytona being offered there.
  10. I read this and I think you might be the one off your meds. Over react much? ?
  11. Exactly. EV are an excellent choice for some, and a poor choice for others. EVs excel at some things, and lag behind in others. It's just another "fuel" source to choose from.
  12. Because a gas powered race car has never run out of fuel on the last lap. Runs out of gas...totally boring. Incorrect. Most manufacturers, including GM and Ford have stated they are scaling back production, but not stopping it. EVERY manufacturer does this based on supply and demand. Chrysler with the Hellcat powered cars, Honda with the NSX, Toyota with the new Supra, Nissan with the GTR and new Z, etc. Initial demand for a new product is always high. And then after a year or two of production, and the pre-orders and wait lists have been supplied, demand drops to normal levels, and production scales back. Supply and demand. A novel concept. https://www.investopedia.com/ford-scales-back-electric-truck-production-as-ev-demand-slows-8536161 https://www.marketplace.org/2023/11/02/ev-demand-production-reality-check/ https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/gm-earnings-outlook-1.7043345#:~:text=Business-,GM scales back electric vehicle and self-driving car plans,it almost %249.3 billion US. https://www.convenience.org/Media/Daily/2023/October/30/1-Automakers-Alter-EV-Plans_Fuel
  13. The Process: 1. Go sit in front of the stash 2. Scan the stash, looking at the box art, and think about what would be cool to start building. 3. After 30 minutes, go back in the house, make a pot of tea. If summer, grab a cold drink of some kind. 4. Go back to stash, continue looking. 5. Grab a box, open it up, look at the contents, then put back on shelf. 6. Repeat step 5 minimum of 4 times. 7. Grab one of the Porsche kits or truck kits, and go inside. 8. It's now either time for dinner, or close to bedtime, so don't start anything. 9. Next day, start the new project by reading instructions, removing parts and sanding, glueing a few things. 10. Realize I'm just not feeling it. 11. return to step 1.
  14. Completed a couple of trades recently with Starwulf and hgbben. Kits arrived safely and exactly as described. 10/10 would trade with them again.
  15. Lots of manufacturers do say that what they learn on the track will make its way into the cars we can buy. So in theory, E-racing should give us improved EV tech for the road.
  16. As long as it doesn't replace actual NASCAR, then I'm all for it. As far as I'm concerned, the more types of racing to watch, the better.
  17. Got another Mustang Dark Horse in, managed to get some pics before delivery. Yes, a boring colour. Still looks awesome though.
  18. I'm in Canada, so definitely not. And -40 is where Celcius and Farenheit are the same. Numerically.
  19. No, the file maker just sells the files for 3d printing. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/drop-tank-racer-skale-1-24 You would need to find someone who would print it for you. Cults3D has a list of their vendor partners that will print on demand for people.
  20. Last week: -40 Celcius temps -53 Celcius windchill 8-10 inches of snow Currently: 0 degrees Celcius sunny blue skies Next week: Welcome to a typical January/February in Alberta.
  21. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/chevrolet-k30-crew-cab-1975 https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/chevrolet-c30-crew-cab-1975 He has a couple of versions. The chassis isn't accurate, but the bodies and the interiors are quite good. Shouldn't be too hard to combine with existing kits. As others have said, Zaina here offers his printing services. I haven't used him, but his prices are fair and I've heard his service is excellent.
  22. Last year, we ordered a bunch of pens to use as giveaways. We did it ourselves, and our marketing department lost their minds. We spend too much, it wasn't approved, blah, blah. So they ordered some pens and went on and on about how much money they saved over the ordered we place. I enjoyed it when the pens arrived, and half don't work, and they literally fall apart if you hold them too tightly or drop them. Even the big boss literally asked "who ordered these [censored] pens? Spend a little money and get the good ones like last time." Referring of course, to the pens I had a hand in ordering. Of course...I'm a pen snob, so still use my Porsche pen, made from actual Porsche braided brake lines.
  23. Picked up a vacuum former. Should (hopefully) be able to make nice curved and shaped windshields for my 3D printed kits now. The instruction manual has some of the best Engrish I've seen in a long, long time.
  24. On a related note...
  25. I'm at work, checking emails that came in overnight. Just printed an RFQ for a local municipality that needs some half tons. So I'll be working on that quote this morning.
