  1. https://fordheritagevault.com/ Must be popular, because this site won't open for me. Sounds cool though!
  2. For almost 40 years people have been using the term “alternative” to describe music that’s left-of-centre, underground, independent, otherwise not made for the mainstream, or all of the above. It’s music that’s an “alternative” to what everyone else was listening to. Then of course, alternative became the mainstream. Now it's become classic rock.
  3. Well, it's not exactly on the road. But here's a view of a Ford Raptor you don't see very often. Not sure what it's in for, but I know it's a warranty repair.
  4. I like the original Honcho kit, but this is a definite improvement.
  5. Great job on the fantasy livery! I agree, much better than the actual yellow car.
  6. People are so concerned about range in the EVs. Sorry, but realistically, how far is your daily commute? For most people, an EV will be just fine for their daily driving needs. Keep an ICE truck around for your roadtrips, but EV makes total sense for daily use. Are they any better for the environment? Not really, not if you're checking out the big picture. Are they going to save the average consumer money? Probably. If they're looking for a new car anyway, why not consider EV? And if you read the manual, and learn to properly pre-heat the car and batteries, then the winter heat issue goes away, and the winter range drop is lessened. Heck, for most people, even if the range drops to half in the winter, that will still cover your daily commute. Of course, if you live in the north, and don't have a garage, you should most likely hold off on an EV purchase.
  7. Great job for Toyota. First overall for 5 years in a row. Most impressive. Personally, I prefer the GTE classes. Good to see Porsche on top there.
  8. Recycling names has been happening for decades. Ramcharger - was a car, became a truck. Maverick - was a car, became a truck Falcon - at least two different versions, on at least two different continents, including a truck Explorer - was a truck trim level, now an SUV Commander - was a Studebaker, became a Jeep Hornet - was a car, now some sort of micro SUV thing Charger - was a coupe, became a performance icon, then became a rebadged Japanese import, then became a crappy econo-car, now a family/rental car And I'll argue that putting an iconic name on an awful car is worse that putting a classic name on really good new platform. Charger - remember the late-70s and the 80s? Hemi 2.6 anyone? Mustang - sorry, but the Mustang II of the 70s was terrible, and the first Fox bodies were not much better. Dart - the most recent Dart was a glorified Neon. Awful. The Mach-E is an amazing car to drive. People just need to get over the fact that Ford wanted to call it a Mustang. The new Chevy Blazer is one of the better crossover SUVs out there. Again, people need to get over the name thing. North American brands in general have no interest in making ICE cars. Ford have one left, the Mustang. Chrysler/Dodge have essentially one car left. The Challenger/Charger was old when it was new, having been based on a 10 year old Mercedes platform when it came out. And when it dies, that's it for Chrysler. GM are slowly getting rid of their ICE cars. Camaro, Corvette, Malibu, Spark, CT4, CT5. And when all of these are retired, they will not be replaced. Even Mazda is slowly ditching their car lineup. Of course, having said that, this is purely a North American thing. In the rest of the world, cars are still popular. As for motorsports, you have Formula E, E-touring cars in Europe, F1 has been hybrid for years, LeMans has been hybrid for years, and it's just going to keep coming. I'll bet within 10 years you have a Nascar E-series, NHRA e-drags, electric Indy cars, and more. Anyway, enough derailing this thread.
  9. Yeah, 4X4 for sure. An EcoBoost powered F150 with the same features would run about $20k less.
  10. This one is sold (as are all of the Lightnings we have comings) but the next one will be available for demos and whatnot. Our boss is buying it and will be making it available, so I will have some play time for sure.
  11. This is a Lariat model, with some stuff on it. Comes in at $101,780 CDN. ? Arrived with about 60% charge. Guessing it left the factory fully charged. Put your junk in the frunk. AHs the onboard generator as standard. Besides the power points in the box, it has this up front in the frunk.
  12. 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat in Atlas Blue. Our first one here, just arrived this morning. Will be doing some more playing once it's been PDId.
  13. Their transkits are really nice too. I have their Saleen 570X kit. Very well engineered, beautifully cast, and super easy to read instructions.
  14. Looks good. 100% agree on the mirrors. Really fiddly, and I found them hard to assemble.
  15. We're getting 5 for 2022 model year, and all are sold. But one is sold to the boss, and will be available here for demoing, which is good. Should get more for 2023 model year. Fingers crossed, I'm angling to get one for my own demo for next summer.
  16. I love these old Transporters. Parked near this at lunch yesterday.
  17. Yeah, read about this over the weekend. Was surprised that he was 70! Was never a huge Bon Jovi fan, but was a fan nonetheless.
  18. So now that Stranger Things has given Kate Bush a massive shot in the arm, I'm reminded of this most excellent cover of Running Up That Hill that Placebo did back in 2003 on their Covers album. Kate's original is a classic, and that entire Hounds of Love album has been a fav of mine for many years. My old band actually used to cover Cloudbusting. Having said that, Placebo are one of my fav bands, and their version is fantastic. A little darker.
  19. Most kits from Revell/AMT here in the west are between $39 and $49 CDN. For those of you in the US, that's around $31-40 US. Tamiya and other asian import kits range from $39 to $89 CDN.
  20. Saw this article last week. Overall, sounds pretty typical of a new vehicle. The retractable bed covers are horrible. Over the years, I've sold countless trucks and have added the retractable bed covers to vehicles at clients' request. Both power and manual. I've even done a manual Retrax cover on a couple of my own trucks. Without fail, they all had issues. As soon as they get a little dirty, or icy, they stop rolling up nicely . The smooth operation is gone, and they get jammed up. Horrible. And I always try to talk people into different covers. $1600 for a windshield. Welcome to the new reality. Windshields well over a $1000 are commonplace now. Built in antenna, heating strips, sensors for adaptive cruise and radar, and all kinds of other stuff. Heck, anew GMC windshield can be well over $1k. Best advice, when you get your new vehicle, head straight to a glass shop and get that coating film they can add. And hopefully, more brands will follow Jeep's lead and make Gorilla Glass available from factory. I like the Rivians. Have been following their progress for a few years now, and it's nice to see an EV truck designed to be an actual truck that does truck things. Will be interesting to see the Bollinger when/if it finally arrives. Or the Atlas. On a somewhat related note, our first F150 Lightning is in a railcar and due to arrive here next week.
  21. If you're just starting out, you can get a full set up for well under $500 US. I went with an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro, plus an Elegoo Mercury wash & cure station, plus a couple of bottles of resin, for $500 CDN. I found it all on Amazon and it was at my door with two days of ordering. I use Chitubox software, which is free, for setting up my prints. I source files for print mainly from Cults3d.com, with most of my purchases ranging from free to around $25 CDN. Wheels, engines, seats, body parts, suspension parts, full kits. It's all out there and easy to get started with. You could spend more, but when starting out, why?
  22. Went out for dinner yesterday, parked next to this.
  23. We print every 2 months. 214 should be arriving in mailboxes by the end of the month.
  24. I wonder how combatable it would be with the Revell Escalade kit from a couple of years ago? Might be a fairly easy conversion for someone. Even converting the standard Escalade kit into a full detail kit.
  25. Your snow looks very convincing to me. Everything looks great!
