Great looking car and model, Bill!
  2. Looking good, Seth! It will really pop when you get the foil done.
  3. No worries, Steve. I wasn't asking for a definitive set of rules, just any tips or experience you might have to avoid pitfalls. Based on your answer I think I just need to dig in. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the very helpful tutorial, Steve. Do you have any tips for the tub dissection? That's the part that intimidates me.
  5. Thanks for the tip, Greg. I hadn't seen that before and it looks like a very useful tool.
  6. I think Steve’s Sunliner is the high water mark for those of us who build replica stock.
  7. Very nice! I happen to be working on something similar and I hope it turns out as well!
  8. Steve, I'm planning to someday build a replica of my first car, a 1962 Pontiac Catalina convertible. I thought I'd use the parts pack bellhousing with the cadillac transmission shown above to do my Slim Jim. The shape is close enough for me. You might give that a try.
  9. Impressive build! You nailed it, Curt! (he said, curtly...)
  10. Amazing the difference in color in the natural light. Even the interior brightened up. This makes me want to shoot every build outdoors. Thanks for posting this and it really is a jewel of a model!
  11. Great tip! That looks very convincing as expanded metal.
  12. Another excellent job, Steve. You have a gift!

Wow, it looks like a 1:1 in your excellent pictures. Roger, how did you get the glass to look so good?
  14. No Chad, Casey. I suspect he doesn't have a presence in new kit development. He just peddles the stuff, apparently.
  15. You definitely have the early ‘60s mild custom look going. It will be fun to see this come together.
  16. Lookin' real good, Steve. I have had a hard time getting wire to work for me when doing trim. I congratulate you for pulling it off.
  17. Wow, Rich, that is a beautiful model. I’m glad you were able to fight through the issues and get it done.
  18. Nice work this past year, Al. I finished exactly one! You know I like what you did with that Stude convertible.
  19. Quality over quantity - two masterful builds, Steve!
  20. Mark, that steering wheel can be found in the readily available '62 Catalina kit, if you aren't up to fabricating one.
  21. Raoul, super clean restoration with excellent color choices - nice work!
  22. LOL, Bill that is some metallic tape that I just stuck my "GT" letters on for painting. I use the regular BMF. I don't have an in progress post but I may start one, time permitting.
  23. Here's a few, making progress...
  24. Really nice work, Bill. I have one of these on the bench so I know how tricky that was to foil the hood and trunk. I'm building mine as a GT so I've had to make a few modifications. Your Torino has been an inspiration!

    2019 builds.

Really nice builds, Gene. You keep raising the bar, buddy!
