A popular fleet truck build! Assuming it will be the later CF white scheme? -

Excellent work on grill, fenders, doors and airbags! Centerpoint steering going on as well? Great tribute to the kit that started it all. -

Frame lengthened to 235" ( 1:1 ) to accommodate the longer 60" VIT sleeper. Thanks again Hakan for your research on the torsion bar suspension and wheelbase used on the Movin' On KW's. Rockwell hubs and drive line fitted. -

Used the AMT frame for a more uniform and solid foundation to mount the torsion bar suspension, which was definitely more difficult to deal with than any other suspension system I've ever built, but luckily it was available in resin, original issue KW plastic would have been impossible to find. There is a donut missing on the end of the resin torsion bar conversion kit, had to fabricate something close, not sure if the AMT version had this part. -

Looked at that possibility and noticed the Revell frame is more narrower than the AMT frame, almost as if it is molded in smaller scale. Have another AMT KW cabover frame that I can use as a donor for the conventional frame stretch. Resin Auslowe torsion bar suspension will be used, comes with nice instructions. -
3d White Freightliner cab sorely needed

A newer high 61 cab with older WF triangle emblem circa '71-'72 with foot strap steps. AMT missed this by a year. Note top of headlight almost level with top of fender, unlike earlier cabs. -

Thanks for the link Russel, never seen it before. Trying to gather as much knowledge from the members on this forum on the Movin On KW. Member Force has been very helpful in his research on KW's used in Season 1 and Season 2. I agree about the current KW, shouldn't really be used for reference, not historically correct. Have a much cleaner AMT conventional frame to mount torsion springs to, but the wheelbase will be too short due to the longer VIT sleeper. Cummins and Roadranger completed. -
Thanks, that would be great! This hubcap design was used on '69-'72 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups and and '71-'72 1 ton vans both in painted and chrome versions. The center is convex (popped up) with a blue bowtie. Could be used up to '75 and up to '78 (base models only) with a concave center (pushed in) gold bowtie. These are the same diameter as your Dodge 3/4 hubcaps. AMT never made these, and attempted to do them on their Chevy van 30 models, but they are totally inaccurate and out of scale.

Thanks for the encouragement! Now that I'm looking at the project a little closer, the suspension change will be more involved than previously thought. The Revell frame rails are not clean, they have airbags and center beam molded into them. Removing them will be very difficult and leave large opening gaps in lower frame rail. Looking at using a donor KW AMT frame now. -

Great start. Fleet truck in the works? -
Here is my vision of an old school early 70's 359. This was an older rebuild. New modifications are single exhaust stack, Ertl rear wheels, Revell front fenders and removing block molded into front springs to get the proper ride height. Don't know why I painted the Cummins engine green back then?

I very much doubt that they will tool up new hoods, emblems and grills by their record of mainly reissues of original kits, IMO, it will be up to the aftermarket to take advantage of the opportunity. '58 standard cab and '58 custom cab -
I chose the Revell version for the best candidate for the Movin' On KW group build. It will require kit bashing from several kits to get it as close as possible. The short hood is the most obvious and noticeable piece, but everything else is powertrain, suspension and wheel modifications. Based on the second season, will need to add a Cummins 6 cylinder engine, torsion bars suspension and 22" wheels and tires.

The question is if we get back the AMT '60 F 100, will it affect any future plans Moebius may or may not have had to do the whole '57-'60 series in multiple configurations? Glad the '60 is finally happening, but I'm still looking forward to a series with a separate cab. separate frame pieces with various grill designs. -

Always wanted to do a Movin On KW, so it looks like this Revell kit is the best candidate. Will be using the AMT short hood and 350 Cummins. Going for the season 2.
