  1. Very nice job bringing out the best in these under rated kits. The paint scheme is perfect for a Western Star and the trailer is perfect with the tandems.
  2. Wow! These Transtar builds are getting better and better. Almost no limit to the variations possible. Really like the old school chromed steelies on rear with Rockwell hubs and lively paint scheme!
  3. How did I miss this one? Great work on the Pete. These older resins cabs really come together when you have the right donor pieces, and this one comes together really nicely! The vintage old big stick wrecker body looks right at home behind this cab.
  4. Thanks for all the replies. Here is one as an example in 1/25. Big plastic never covered the Mack B61 and Holmes 750. Not saying I would be content with the "Napa" theme and put it on a shelf as is, but paint could be stripped and repainted and new decals added. Wheels also could be changed out also. In other words could modifying and rebuilding diecasts become a new thing? Prices for a resin cab and resin bed plus donor frame etc. would end up being close in price to the diecasts.
  5. I agree , nice job on this build. I believe it was one of the older Dodge cab conversions from the similiar era Ford cab. Older thread, but wheel question wasn't fully answered. Spent a lot of time studying model truck wheels, always the first thing I would look at when opening any truck kit. IF they are resin, they were knock off's from the Ertl's diecast 1957 Chevy stake truck. Ertl 1957 Case Stake Truck Diecast / Metal Replica 1/25 Scale New | eBay . Danny at Scenes Unlimited now offers some excellent 5 and 6 lug 20" Budd type wheels (his original molds-not knock offs) for medium duties, such as this Dodge D 700.
  6. This is true for the bottom moldings that are not sunken in.
  7. IMO, the Paystar kit has the best rear Budd steel type 20" dually's ever made, however the front wheels are another story, the shape of the hand holes were way off. Would have liked to see a standard front wheel similiar to the rears on this one. Even so, the kit has a nice heavy duty frame and would be great donor for a resin R 190 dump.
  8. I agree, its a lot of work, AMT just assumed we all wanted top of the line models with all the gingerbread. Please big plastic, make moldings a separate part on the chrome tree! For some, like myself, it seems it's easier to write a check for a first gear and start stripping paint. FIRST GEAR FORD F100 STYLESIDE PICKUP NAPA 1973 1/25TH SCALE IN BOX | eBay Plus, it even has the standard wheelbase F 100 F 250 bed.
  9. Right, these are correct scale F 250 style hubcaps designed to fit a 8 lug wheel, not the similar looking smaller caps used on the original '69 kit.
  10. Back in the day, plastic was the only realistic stuff out there when Nylint and Tonka were doing their thing. Have noticed a lot more quality high end realistic die casts covering the market and giving us a lot more options. Check out this big rig in 1/18. If it was in 1/25, I might leap. 11. Looks good, nice stance. Like the factory deluxe tu tone "Sequoia Brown" paint box art.
  12. Excellent work. Thanks for building more of the uncommon subjects, both are super realistic looking, new shiny city truck hauling off the old, faded farm truck.
  13. I agree, great color combo choice, white wheels contrast very well with the white roof!
  14. The 3/4 ton Dodge van-pickup hubcaps were done by Rookie Resin a little while back. They were excellent quality , hopefully they will be offered again soon. I built a D 200 using them, plan on using the 16" wheels and tires from the Moebius '68 F 250 to complete the look
  15. Excellent overall detailing work on this F 100. Especially like the interior colors, it really pops, one of the best I've ever seen.

  17. Very nice reference material for the '70 F 100 1970 Ford F100 | Barn Finds
  18. Nice job on paint, mods and fine detail work. These were custom built trucks when they were new, is perfectly normal to change wheelbases to do a particular job better, that is what makes truck model building so much different than car model building.
  19. A camper for standard 8' pickups in 1/25. Neo does one in 1/43 scale.
  20. Maybe a box set in the future again.
  21. Received mine today, looks very good. It's 1978 again.......... The wheel option is a big plus, like to see more future releases with a wheels option also, maybe even in 22" as well. Probably back date it to a '62
  22. Great job. The front end and wheel de chroming makes this build so much more realistic looking.
  23. I remember in the 70's there was a company that converted these vans to 4x4, I believe they were all 8 lug wheels too.
  24. Thanks for the reply. The older cabs generally came with the narrow grills and the newer cabs generally came with the wide grills. The anomalies are the old cab with the wide front end and the newer cab with the narrow front end. I'm in the later dilemma. Will put in a want ad.
  25. I'm in on the Larger Louisville grill and the Dodge van grill posted by Gary and Dale. These kits are plentiful and we definitely could use some appearance options for them.
