  1. Double Take Replicas-closed. Really liked their rubber bias ply drive tires. Motor City Resin Casters-missing in action. Great stuff, website is still up, but orders seem to vaporize.
  2. Great looking tire and wheel combo! It appears ST supply picked up some of S.U. items, but I don't see all of Danny's wheels and tires yet on the site yet. Hope we get the full line back! I would like to see the 9.50-16.5" highway tread tires and 8.25-16.5 wheels, a common size on 70's camper specials and in photos below (front of Ford and Chevy). Fireball said he had something in the works for the tire and Chevy 3/4 ton hubcap last time I emailed him. Fireball does carry the wide rear 9.75-16.5 wheel with hubcap package on rear of this F 350 Super Camper Special, but not the 12-16.5 highway tread tire for it.
  3. Beautiful job on the IH Loadstar bus. Very inspirational build. Maybe I can do something with this Ford someday. School bus used in the Clint Eastwood movie?
  4. Beautiful wrecker Greg! Excellent fab work. Wheelbase looks spot on, excellent choice for 1 ton tires and wheels.
  5. Right, shown a while back, part of the planned F series kit program. This should be another first for the modeling industry, an F 350 with the proper 135" 1 ton wheelbase wrecker body. Photo shows 159" wheelbase, correct for typical F 350 flatbeds.
  6. The '64 grill with top panel could be adapted to the '65-'66 Mobius kits. The only '61-'66 Ford truck grill never covered by big plastic.
  7. Yes, very interested. Will pay extra for quality pieces that don't need a lot of prep work! AMT missed the boat on these!
  8. Excellent work Michael! Great powerplant choice for a 50's big rig! They look very similar to a big diesel engine. Here is another big gas engine from the era.
  9. Is this the one you are referring to? Casey posted this ghost kit a couple of years ago.
  10. Old post, but, wow, first time visual for me. Not surprised though, all Tom's work is professional grade! Really like the first gen. Ford W, outstanding details and spot on, everything in correct proportions. Old boxy is much more appealing than modern aerodynamics. The long Louisville is great too!
  11. Nice project. And will require two sets of grills eventually.?
  12. Neat project. Nice to see a 1/2 ton kit grow to be a 1 1/2 ton. Excellent choice for wheels and tires! IMO, Danny @ S.U. knocked it out of the park with his 17.5" and 20" medium duty tire and wheel sets.
  13. Is Strato Models still around? They had a great Pete and Autocar at one time.
  14. Keystone had some excellent 5 and 10 hole Alcoa rims made out of real aluminum and a great line of 50's gasoline tankers ( duel movie types ) will be a major loss if not picked up again. Rookie Resins also had some excellent never done before pieces that will be a major setback if lost forever.
  15. Underneath shot. Research shows the 534's were actually installed in '56 and '57 prototype test models before the official introduction in '58.
  16. Great point! The Bantam shovel boom is supposed to lower thru the key hole. The load measures approx. 8" high, which translates into approx. 17' in 1:1. Your right, way too high! This photo shows a much safer transporting position.
  17. Great tribute to the AMT box art! I remember back in grade school, it was always a tough choice which kit to ask for, this KW or the California Hauler.
  18. Very impressive work on this engine. Glad you were able to find detailed original photos for reference. Any info on what color the Hall Scott was painted?
  19. Fantastic job, excellent paint and detailing work!
  20. Right, and some bad luck in their personal lives and the same time. IMO, all the recent AMT re issues and new Moebius kits created a much higher demand for resin pieces, something that was done part time 20 or 30 years ago almost requires doing it full time today.
  21. Truely a one of a kind masterpiece!
  22. Great idea! Beyond my skills, but sure to learn a lot from this build. At one time somebody offered a resin DT466, would be perfect for this IH.
