Mack R-Model Hammill Construction
leafsprings replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very impressive work! You really took advantage of the great aftermarket stuff out there to make these old AMT kits much more real world looking. The used, but not abused, look is perfect! -
Anybody have any luck ordering from Scenes Unlimited lately? Site appears to be down.

Moebius Ramp Truck...

X2! The Fairlanes or Mustangs are great choices for the well balanced long wheel base 1 ton Ford. -
Good eye! A little trimming work is in order before paint. I can see these 8 lug wheels and 16" tires showing up on the AMT '72 Chevy pickup, AMT '75-'78 Ford pickup and the MPC Dodge pickups builds in the near future!

Thanks for sharing photos Matt! The larger wheels and larger hubcaps look great! The grill is another story.

1954 Ford C 800

Thanks for the comments and interest! More details added to cab and IMC tanker gets a matching fleet paint job. Under glass soon. -
My observations on original issue commercial Calif plates. For letters on the right side of plate. A, B, C for '68, C, D, E for '69 E, F and G for '70. G, H, J are '71. New Blue commercial plates for '72 were K, L, M. Some overlapping are expected in some years for varioius reasons. Letters A-V on the left side of plate for '63-'67. Commercial fleets were usually W X or Y. The '67 model year was caught in the switch for letters on the left side to letters on the right side of plate.

The stance and front end alignment on the box art looks a little off. Side note, head light buckets were not blacked out on '68's. Looking forward to the first kit in pickup model history to come with standard width 8 lug steelies in 1/25 scale!

Disappointing, with all the '50 Chevy kits out there.................................. Hope we get Rookie Resin back soon! -
Mack Cruise-Liner

Very sharp looking Mack, excellent detail work! These later generation of 70's trucks ( Cruiseliner's, Ford CL9000's Generals, Bison's etc.) are beginning to catch my interest! -
Let's see those Dodges

Great looking D 700 Brian. Too bad IMC didn't offer this companion to the L 700 back in the day! Great thread round up idea. Maybe all the Louisville's, Astro's, KW 925's, Diamond Reo's etc. in their own threads too. We often loose track of these great builds of the past. -

Great looking fleet trucks! Like the Budd wheel upgrade to the Western Star! -
I purchased this '66 thinking it was a promo. Most promo are molded in factory colors and Dark Aqua Poly was a new for '66 color. Probably a Satco. Looks like it has the original '60 torsion bar front suspension with X frame, not the correct '66 suspension and frame.

Maybe M. M.K. can do a "parts pack" run for these 3 items?

Very dooable, remember pull that fender back, that MC wrecker kit was based on an existing shortbed pickup wheelbase, not a longer 1 ton wheelbase.

The Racerswedge body is now officially obsolete. Fantasy land days are over! Thankyou ModelKIng.

1954 Ford C 800
leafsprings replied to leafsprings's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Frame is nearing completion. Getting ready for the paint shop. Removed C 600 hood side emblem, C 800's used the larger Big Job emblem. Will have to fabricate something. -
Wouldn't cost them a cent to run it by us first for critiques of proposed box art. Not the first time though. '69 F 100 2WD and '66 F 100 4x4 box art have some issues as well.
