New Ford email announcement...
Joe Handley replied to BlackSheep214's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This, trucks are bought by enough people who don’t actually need, most would be better off with a minivan, but that’s not a macho machine that feeds an ego. -

That looks like a decent little pickup with decent power with the hybrid system, let alone the 2.0 Turbo motor ! -
Motorcycle scratch built with 3D Pen!

I was watching it with my mouth hanging open, I’m using that Bondic stuff to try out on restyling a AMT ‘57 Chevy and find it interesting, but this was mind blowing! That is why I had to share it with you guys! -
I seem to remember that this platform was designed by Renault and could have been FWD, RWD, or AWD without major redesigns and was how the Charger concept car from the late 90's was based on this platform as a starting point. I have another one of these I want to build as a 2dr custom, but may need to go and dig for one of the many AMT/Ertl Prowler kits I bought in the 90's to see how hard it would be to adapt this kit and that drivetrain together.........

That could be it, plus it was getting humid leading up to today's rain as well, which may not have helped, though I had other stuff I painted that didn't have that issue.

I’ve been running E85 in my 200 for 9 years now, from what I’ve seen over the years is an increase in stations, mostly Speedway and Thornton’s as in many cases there are contract clauses with big brands that franchises can not even consider selling more than 10% without losing the contract with the who ever has their name on the sign. Then there’s signs like this for both E85 and BioDiesel? I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if something like that would get posted on EV chargers if such companies are forced to put those in. Now I have heard of a gas station with repair facilities that was converted to a charging station when selling gas almost got to be an expense vs a profit item. They had a decent clientele of EV owners at the time, though they also had rather upset casual customers who were shocked to find out that they could no longer buy fuel there like they did “week before”, even though the station had been shut down for a while to convert let lone had not been selling gas for months at that point??

Well, this is irritating……… Went to lay down the color coat onto this Concord today and all 4 sides of the body shell and the front bumper are all COVERED in bubbles Any thoughts out there on if it’ll wet sand out or do I just need to pick up some Purple Power and a tub to dip it in?!

Pegasus offers barrels with tires these might fit into, that’s something I’ve thought about.

Main complaint I have is that they’re too skinny ?♂️

Got this painted in the main color yesterday and in the matte clear today, here’s how it looked before the clear was put on, I still need to do some of the detail paint and bed lining on the bottom and inside of the tub, grill, and tail gate. Planning on pulling the rolling stock off and separating the wheels and tires then doing the matte clear over the chrome on the wheels before gluing the tires to them too. Not sure the best way to paint Willy’s face inside the helmet, so any tips would be appreciated! Quick edit, it’s even closer now ?

What did you see on the road today?
Joe Handley replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think they’ve bought those as a stop gap to replace the Gruman bodied S-Trucks that are aging out and/or burning down until the new, purpose built replacements are ready. I’ve read that they also replaced Mercedes badges with laser or water jet cut eagles head badges to try and disguise that these are Mercedes products from people that would automatically assume that the USPS was spending S-Class money on basic work vans when the saw the 3 pointed star emblem.........and not that a German manufacturer was building vehicles for the United States Post Office? -
Thanks, while I'm not the biggest fan of older GM front drives, I really like this kit, for some odd reason and think it has potential for unusual customizing touches, I found a really nice green from Duplicolor that is a Chevy color and will be shared with this, the '63 Stingray, and '57 Chevy. Hopefully I'll get the time to shoot them and the body for my Wild Willy 4x4 R/C build this weekend!

Here’s that Impala police car model I posted elsewhere after trying yet another set of the ‘57 Chevy kit’s wheels on it. Got that in primer now too, body work is all but done too, just need paint for it!
-
Got a few of these, much like the ‘57 Chevy, here’s the latest one though just with the wheels from one of the 57’s before cleaning up the flash and priming it. Here it is, after the primer was laid down, found a nice Chevy color from Duplicolor’s that will get used on this and a couple other models. Hopefully I’ll have some decent time and weather this weekend to paint it once I get this primer wet sanded and seal primed.

Funny, with MT now having a channel on DirecTV, I was thinking about dropping the online subscription until I was that! -
Street Fury Customs and Custom ‘58 Fury
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The Fury is in primer, have a little glazing work to do on the hood before it’s ready for color though. -
Got the Street Machine ‘57 in primer, no clue what I’m going to paint it though.

Hit the body work on the Concorde done and it’s in just Duplicolor sandable primer. still needs a color then clear coats, custom exhaust tips, and better wheels, though.
