  1. I, for one, stand corrected. Obviously mixing and mismatching '55 and '57 info. Sorry about that.
  2. Personally, I'd much rather see a 1968 Galaxie (or Custom) brought back. But that's just me.
  3. Even more ironic is that AMT once issued a pre-finished Masterpiece version of the 300C in a dark forest green color. It, too, was good looking but it, too, was a non-authentic color. Your model looks great!!
  4. Amen to that. I've read and re-read their exuberant announcement and I'm still not sure I understand their proposed pricing schedule, etc. It all smells like snake oil to me.
  5. My electrician was the one who was incredibly disappointed when he finally found out that a "ground fault interrupter" was not some kind of new tech anti-earthquake device. He tried to be a political activist in college, but he was always a few ohms short of a full-on revolt.
  6. Indeed! If it's good, I'll need a couple, too! Thanks, Steven.
  7. Congrats on beating it! I've seen this kit and I have one, but the fiddliness of it has encourgaged me to spend my little time on other stuff. Glad you built this one! Thanks for sharing it.
  8. Scary thing is . . . where did they find those kids???
  9. Another fantastic kit that replicates a magic police car. "Magic" because it doesn't require any sort of antennae for its radio equipment! Nor does it require inner shafts and handles to operate its A-pillar mounted spotlights! Semi-"magic" because it mates a 2020's car with a 1980's-1990's prisoner divider/cage. Ahh, well. There's always another year . . .
  10. Wow. I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. My sincere condolences for his family, friends, the NNL East family, and you, Tom. Very sad news. I can't say I knew him, but I've email-conversed and I've admired his work. Good enough for me to feel the loss, too. RIP, friend.
  11. . . . And, HELLO! S U B U R B A N S - S U B U R B A N S - S U B U R B A N S - S U B U R B A N S - S U B U R B A N S - S U B U R B A N S!!!! Did I mention SUBURBANS??
  12. There seems to be a lot of 'who knew?' going on in the EV field. One of my favorite - although sadly ironic - is LAFD decided to be avant garde and lead the way by buying and placing an electric pumper into service. Great idea. Until it set itself on fire and burned up. I mean, really - who couldn't see that coming? Building a fire engine with a big tank of water on top of the huge batteries? It developed a little leak that was a big enough leak to short out the batteries. Gave a whole NEW meaning to Fire Truck. Or, "On-Fire Truck!"
  13. Checkers were built in Kalamazoo, MI. In 1972 I was working for a corporation that sent me TDY for four months to Kalamazoo. I had never seen so MANY Checker Marathons in my life to that point . . . and after leaving Kalamazoo I've never seen that many since. Amazing part of it was that most of them running around in Kalamazoo were NOT taxi cabs. Checker offered an employee discount. It was bizarre to see Checkers in multiple non-yellow colors! Some of them were hot-rodded (mags, jacked up shackles, wide tires, vinyl roofs, lots of chrome, loud stereos, etc., etc.). Occasionally jacked up on 4x4 truck chassis with BIG wheels/tires. Families riding around in Marathon wagons. Just amazing. I was stunted for years after that experience.
  14. Remember last year when the EV F150 was rolling out and the CEO of Ford made a big deal out of how he was going to drive one from the factory (MI) to DC? Big press conference and he struck out alone. Had all the pre-planned list of charging stations at intervals matching Ford's advertised ranges for the EF150. Press followed him along, planning to cover his first charging station stop. EF150 only made it about 1/2 way to the first planned charging stop . . . and it quit. Dead battery. Seems even for the CEO they couldn't jerry-rig one to go as far as they advertise. CEO left it and got an Uber back to the factory. (He wouldn't accept a ride offered by someone from the press.) 😖 🥴
  15. Correct. They are commercial enforcement units. Ever try to push a semi off the highway with a Setina on a Charger?
  16. A never-ending whoopie cushion soundtrack would be appropriate, IMHO. 🦨
  17. Outstanding build, Louis! GREAT detailing. We just don't see enough of these built.
  18. As I recall, that was one of a handful of similar Ford vehicles - the others were passenger cars - that came with a car hauler tractor/trailer toy. Not models or promos at all, just "stock" for the trailer. They all featured the same high level of accuracy and detailing as your Ranchero and they were a very cheap, flimsy plastic. Excuse me, I have to go to the other room to remove my tongue from where it is stuck to the inside of my cheek.
  19. THEN - 09/11/2001 The World Trade Center in New York City was attacked by terrorists on 9/11/2001. FDNY lost 343 first responders. We pledged we would never forget. YESTERDAY - 09/23/2023 FDNY Retired Firefighter Robert Fulco died of cancer from exposure to and ingestion of toxic materials and carcinogens during rescue operations at the World Trade Center. His death was the 343rd recorded death of 9/11 rescue personnel. FDNY has now lost as many first responders/rescuers post-9/11 from the rescue efforts as were lost in the attacks on 9/11. We must never forget. TODAY - 09/24/2023 More than 4,000 first responders, survivors, family members, and supporters participated in the 22nd Annual Tunnels to Towers Run. They haven’t forgotten.
  20. Sweet, indeed!! Good show, Tri-R!
