What did I get today? Two new pearls of infinite truth for my proverbial necklace of wisdom: " . . . useless, incorrect, but endlessly rebleated gibberish . . . " " . . . it's pert near impossible to separate expertise from bloviation." Sage observations courtesy Ace-Garageguy, soon to be known as AZ-Saguaroguy. ? ??

Articles now being paid for?
Danno replied to BSteinIPMS's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
No, I'm not angry, let alone 'very angry,' Ron. But I appreciate your amateur psycho-analysis after having read only one post on a social media forum. You must be very, very good in your practice. Twelve posts and you already have everything and everybody figured all out. I don't have 'a personal problem' with the writer, Ron. PS: Does the writer have proof that an payment agreement was in place? If not, his allegation is without back-up. Oh, BTW. Welcome to the forum. ?? -
Hey, Tom! Isn't the dash on that Chevy just killer?? ??

What everybody said above! Very nice builds, David. Better to complete two like these than to slap together a bunch of lesser works (just described myself) or to not get anything done at all (whoa, described myself again!). ??

All very nice, but the '34 Ala-up really sings to me. Very nice!! (Not that the T-Bird isn't . . . ) ??

Interesting Comparisons
Danno replied to unclescott58's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Opel GT was openly referred to as a "Baby 'Vette" back in its day. Kind of a poor man's entry-level 'Vette. The Falcon and the Mustang? They don't look anything alike at all . . . until you skin them! There always has and always will be a lot of cross-pollination in automotive styling. Some more notorious than others, but always. Even occasional outright Xerox theft. ?? -
Articles now being paid for?

What's the point? Looks like that's 5 & 6 year old water under the bridge. Did you have a firm commitment for payment BEFORE you submitted the articles or were you just EXPECTING to receive compensation for unsolicited material? Did MCM renege on an actual agreement/contract or were you just disappointed in your great expectations? And again, even so, what's the point now? If it was so important as to fester for 5-6 years, why didn't you sue for it long ago, before the statute of limitations ran out? And speaking of Scale Auto / Scale Auto Enthusiast, why don't you just keep writing your articles for them? Oh. Yeah. Okay, why don't you post your venomous spiel on their forum/bulletin board. Oh. Yeah. Just asking. With whatever all due respect. ?? -
Besides great debate over which type of vehicle / which brand of vehicle would be most likely to win, the early planning and formulation of the event also included considerable brew-driven argument over which ocean was the "shining sea" and which ocean was just the "sea." Territorial disputes are everywhere! ??

"Make decent pets." So do these: NOT! Your new neighbors might try to convince you they're just lovable little Sonoran pot belly pigs. (They do that to newcomers, the sadistic SOBs.) These guys (Javelinas) are anything but "pet"able. ??

Very nice, Misha!! Glad you busted your stump. ? ??

I kinda thought the name change might be to: Ace-Haboobieguy. ??

Even though I'm new to the CANNONBALL Run Community Build, I'm going to pick up the challenge. I have to say this theme (CANNONBALL RUSE) is so intriguing, I'm likely to become a die hard contestant. So, here's my entry: ??

AMT kits suck!
Danno replied to Plumcrazy Preston's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm going to make it a point to buy the next new model car kit that Plumcrazy produces so I can compare its engineering, parts fit, "buildability," and plastic material quality, etc. to that of AMT's kits. Inquiring minds want to KNOW. ?? -
One of the coolest guys on the planet: SR-71 driver Brian Shul
Danno replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
WoW! That was amazing . . . awesome . . . awe-inspiring! Best hour + I've spent in a long, long time. Thanks, Bill, for sharing that. If you had not, I never would have seen it and I am grateful for the experience. An incredible Christmas present. ??? -
