Put paper down inside the booth or you will end up with paint on your bench. The sides are not tight fitting. They are nice units, I have one. Search "Portable Paint Booth" and you will find lots of them. There are several companies putting their name on it. Got mine from Amazon.

An apology
Xingu replied to The Modeling Hermit's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Doug - You display the models the way you want to. It isn't for others to complain about it. If they do, shame on them. Most folks love forced perspective photos and comment on how real they look. Your method, in my opinion, is just a variation of that. You definitely do not need to apologize. I just shoot my models, the same models everyone has seen dozens of times, in a plain white light box. I wish I had the skills to use a more realistic background. Continue on sir, you rock. -
Thanks. I have tried the Tamiya Light Sand, but wasn't happy with the results. However, I did not hit it with any clearcoat. I think I will try it again.

Thanks. I guess I am looking more for the leather look or feel, than the actual color. I see your point about all the different interpretations that could be made.

Looking for some advice. What brand and color paint will make for a realistic tan interior? I am looking for a medium/light tan to go with a metallic orange exterior color.

I have often thought to lower my 1:1 '67 Charger for a big tire pro touring look. I like the stance.

Thanks to one of the great members here, Pat (landman), I now have the Richard Petty decals that will let me finish this model correctly. This really is a great community of model builders. I will post up photos when I get them applied.

I started racing BMX in 1981 at age 14 and raced well into my 30's. Still have a cruiser in the shed, just in case. Started riding mountain bikes in the late 90's and even tried bicycle trials riding. Never competed, but rode with a guy that did. The problem I have is that I like to go fast and common sense usually doesn't kick in until after the crash. I generally ride alone and have limped out of the woods on more than one occasion. I used to have cardio for days, now it is cardio for about two hundred yards.

Compliments on posted models

Who said sarcasm cannot be conveyed on the internet. -
Base model A-Bodies get no love, which I why they are still affordable today. Brings back memories. Nicely done.

'67 Dodge Charger, MPC or Revell?
Xingu replied to Roadrunner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would not look forward to having to glue the front fender mounted turn signal indicators in place. -
Chrysler 413 Cross Ram in 1962?
Xingu replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Long Ram is my favorite intake. I love the way they look! -
I think the race switched channels twice. I read they put up very brief notices about the channel switches..

This thread is 9 years old and now I want to build a Vega. The Baldwin Motion graphics fit well with this car.

I didn't have AC until I got to high school in 1981. That school only had AC because it was newly built in 1979. I do remember getting out of middle school a few times because of the heat.

That is not humid, would love to only have 47% humidity

Late 70's to late 80's was a good time to buy a car if you had the money. I had a chance to buy a very nice '70 Challenger convertible 340 with factory air for $3000 and the used car salesman couldn't believe I would pay that much for the car. Also had a chance to get a decent '65 Vette with a 327 4-speed and knock off wheels for $5000. All when I was 17 or 18 years old. Missed opportunities taught me about saving money. Now that i have some money saved, all the prices are through the roof.

Thanks guys. I am a big Mopar fan so it is extra enjoyable to build a kit such as this. Growing up in the 80's, I knew a guy that had a green Superbird. Seems like it was always in the garage on jack-stands.

'67 Dodge Charger, MPC or Revell?
Xingu replied to Roadrunner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just checked as these are on my bench at the moment: The Revell Foose version has the 8¾" rear as well. The Monogram Superbird and the Revellogram '69 Dodge 440 both have the big Dana. -
Mopar Guys ...DON'T LOOK
Xingu replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Does it look like they are on a banked section of track? I think this will be cheaper to rebuild than some of the European vintage racers that have been piled up in recent years. -
This was built from the 1991 edition of the Monogram kit. Bought the kit open/started. Engine was built and the alternator and rear view mirror were missing. I happened to have an extra alternator, but no mirror. Nothing was painted by the previous owner, so that was a plus. Exterior painted Vitamin C/Go Mango from MCW. White and black interior. Decals were really yellowed, but I used them anyway. If I ever come across a sheet of decals that has the missing Roardrunners, I will add them to wing side panels and driver's side headlight door. This kit did not come with a full set of factory correct decals. My use of BMF went a little smoother this time around, now that I knew what to expect. Again, not perfect but I feel it is a little better than my last model. I can't ask for anymore than that. Thanks for looking.

You can also get the Foose version, it's a 2n1.
