  4. Yep, I was at that race and they had 2 cars there. #1 with Jim Hall driving and #2 with Ed Leslie driving. I know neither one finished but I don't remember why.
  5. I don't know....................I think it needs a few more decals !
  6. Found this in a NASCAR historical book.Car was owned by Richard Howard who was the manager of Charlotte Speedway. Junior Johnson built car. Glotzbach won pole for the May 30th race at Charlotte but crashed at half way point of the race. Glotzbach and backup driver Friday Hassler won the Bristol race in July of 1971. The Car raced at Bristol didn't have the Kmart or the Gaddy Motor sponsorship on it.
  7. Beautiful job.............one of my favorite schemes. Years ago I was given a 1/18 scale die cast model of this car. It must weigh 10 pounds.
  8. To let out any built up air pressure in the trunk. That's why the tonneau cover covers as much of the interior as possible so as to prevent any air from being trapped inside the car and causing drag.
  9. I went there but couldn't find your group. What is the exact name of your site????
  10. Checked out Bub Strickler's record on Racing Reference website. The #35 was entered at the 1972 Daytona race and the 1972 Ontario race but did not qualify for either one. Those are the only entries for the #35 car.
  11. Who cares about the Porsche................how about that 60's era red Mopar next to it.??????????

  14. I remember when the automatic transmission was introduced and everybody said that they didn't need no "fancy gizmo" to shift the gears for them...............thank you very much!! Let's not forget the 36,000 people killed last year by real people driving cars!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. This is what was recommended back in the 1990's.
  16. Got these in the mail today from Pro-Tech. $2.50 each.
  17. What I want to know if anyone puts larger tires on the right side of the car than on the left side like today's stock cars??? Now they would be the ultimate modeler!!! See specs below for this weekends race at Las Vegas. Of course on road courses they run the same size tires. Tire Codes: Left-side — D-4842; Right-side — D-4796 Tire Circumference: Left-side — 2,224 mm (87.56 in.); Right-side — 2,252 mm (88.66 in.) Minimum Recommended Inflation: Left Front — 19 psi; Left Rear — 19 psi; Right Front — 52 psi; Right Rear — 48 psi
  18. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately they don't have this type of carburetor.
  19. Picked up this die cast at the Chrysler swap meet here in Michigan last weekend. No Box. It is missing one carb. Don't know if it is 1/24 or 1/25. Can anyone help me get a carb for this??? Carb diameter is 5/16". It is chrome with gold float bowls. Obviously I can paint one if it has the wrong colors. Thanks for any help you can provide.
  20. Grew up in Detroit in the 40's, 50's and 60's. Lived 3 blocks from the Plymouth Lynch Road Assembly plant and about 8 blocks from the Dodge Main Assembly Plant. All family and most neighbors worked at Chrysler or a supplier of Chrysler. I worked 42 years at the Chrysler Enginering Center, first in Highland Park and then in Auburn Hills in the Race Engine Development Group. I have only owned Chrysler products my whole life. MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!!!!!!!
