  1. The Jeep is Awesome! This is inspiring me to get my Ford done. I'm slowly trying to get it sorted out but I'm thinking at this point I'd be better off trying to get the 55 done... The front fenders were sawed off at the front running boards... At the moment I'm re-attaching that. My cousin was really going down a bad road with this thing and I'm glad he stopped when he did...
  2. Nicely done! Movie car models make for great conversations... I have one I plan on building as the "before" version...I swiped those white walls and steel wheels for another project...
  3. That chopped 53 is cool! I'm trying to deside if the sketch was a disadvantage or if it helped you with the bodywork... And thanks to everyone for cheering me on, I'm gonna try and finish this soon I hope.
  4. I thought I go on and start this, for discussion mostly because #1 they are my favorite cars and #2 I thought it may inspire someone else to build one. This is not the 79 but there's not much difference in the 78... I've had this 78 for 15 years and I've been scared to start it thinking I would louse it up and how often do you see these for sale and untouched? And I've bought alot of build ups to satisfy my craving to build them. The Revell 69 Nova chassis is a good replacement for the not so great one MPC supplied in the box. I've got this set up as a moderen LS pro-touring style Nova... The Squad Rod will make a nicely built example to represent the last real Nova of a Generation... we don't count the Toyota that GM put a Nova badge on lol! Thanks for Stopping by, Now go get ya a Disco Nova for the workbench lol! ??
  5. I never thought this kit needed that PE set anyways the details on the kit are good by itself... I like the fact that you kept marching on with it. when I was in middle school this guy had one same colors as yours... Brian would get behind the school bus I rode, and let us get ahead aways and bring it off... So cool seeing it get sideways. Some cool cars in my town growing up... Good memories!
  6. Congrats! That turned out great! Nice to know It finally all came together for ya... Model on!
  7. Another Sweet Revell Camaro. Never seen one I didn't like...?
  8. I have been working on the 36 but I confess It's taken the back seat to all my sorting and organizing. I wasn't to happy with the door lines maybe rushed the body work around the door frames... My dingis cousin cut them away from the top so it's been a fairly comlicated chop and getin those back in place has proven to be nearly impossible... compounded by my perfectionist ways, I can't be satisfied. So in an effort to hide the "Jagged" door lines, I added a panel seperater wash... The color is light too to use a black wash so I'm trying to correct it at the moment...
  9. The Pontiac listed here on Ebay is a 77...The Pontiac Ventura that the Nova was modified from is actually a 75 year model. The 77 Pontiac was tooled from the original 75 car also.
  10. Glad I could help?
  11. I found the original post and it reads... "Well it seems it is a discontinued model and pretty much out of stock in many locations. Some places have even begun to charge the 'silly prices' for the kit. I believe this was re-popped by Round 2, so I'm a bit surprised it was only a limited time offering. Oh, well"...
  12. Hey Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure how things worked. I had seen a post on here that stated Round 2 had stopped making them... Nice to know It may have a second or third run... I haven't seen many of them either.. I check HL periodically they have a spot on the shelf listed for it but have never seen the kit itself there.
  13. Thanks, here is the Real thing...
  14. It didn't sell well... It's discontinued agian. I thought there would be more interest in the kit but I've only seen one or two posted here, one was a conversion to a 4 door. Amazing work too... Maybe I'll start an on the workbench thread with one of mine, I have many... I have altered the 69 Revell Chassis to fit these cars. I'd like to share my work with anyone to inspire them to build it. I get tired of seeing my work would love to see someone else's vision for this bodystyle.
  15. Here are a few of mine that I've built... I like the kit but having owned 18 real ones of this bodystyle (75-79) I guess you can say I'm kinda biased... The silver car is a replica of my real one also an original Squad Rod... The police car is the reissue and aside from an improved decal sheet and newer tires it is a direct replica of the original kit. I've kinda put my spin on the original boxart. The blue "SS" is the 77 issue which is practically the same kit as the 79. (different frontend and grill). Sadly though, Round 2 has discontinued the kit and yet agian it will be OOP.
  16. Found these in my son's old toy box. Thinking about restoring both of them... He was pretty rough on 'em but they're still in tack. That's more than I can say for any of my toys. lol! He definitely favored the General over the Striped Tomato... I got them when he was 2 and he's 16 now. It will be nice to have them looking new agian. Can anyone direct me to a good rechroming source? Thanks...
  17. Take the photo then do a screenshot of that photo... Post the Screenshots This way you can post unlimited photos.
  18. I might be able to help. I print on clear decal paper mostly... but my printer doesn't print white ink. let me know what you are thinking about and I'll see if I can help... send me a pic of the image if you can... here are some decals I printed recently.
  19. Really clean build... If I may make a suggestion... The cowl vents are supposed to match the rest of the hood stripes... The reason why the decals on the valance are pinstripes, is because they are meant to be painted white where the vents are, And on the hood where the decals are cut around the recessed areas should be painted too. The reason for this design is because the decals wouldn't conform to the hood if they were solid. But these areas are meant to be painted... You can use a edge brush and some testors white paint, it will match the decals pretty well. This tip will improve the look of the stripes. By painting these small areas it will carry the stripes all the way to the vents like the real car. I hope this helps you understand the design.
  20. Hey thanks David! that would be cool... I was gonna say this 55 was a ProStreet sittin in the box so long that the tires melted the Inside of the body and you can see the "O N E" from the Firestone tire. All you guys have experienced this reaction when enough time comes between rubber and plastic... Rubber melts plastic lol! I may get me a resin tubbed chassis if I get a hood...Thanks agian...
  21. Yeah... like I say "Just for fun"... My cousin started this thing around 90 or 91 and it was a mess check out how butchered it is... everything he started was about the same quality... bunch of junk really, but I can fix it! Revell chassis and I'm back on track so the 90's PRO Street movement will have to live on with something else. I dig it too... but there's no way I can deal with that hack job... I'm trying to sort out a 66 Chevelle monogram car he did the same thing to. I like the car too much to scrap! it's another project for me.
  22. Just for fun! I'll straight axel anything, I'm not scared!? The chassis is butchered to get the tires under it anyway... I have a virgin Revell chassis for it..
  23. Sadly It's missing the hood... I thought about building it as a Gasser, It's more acceptable to be missing the hood as Gasser than a ProStreet.? I'm just glad to get the paint off it... that was one crappy paint job.
