  1. WOW!!! Looks like it rolled right off a Texas cattle ranch!! Great job on the mud!!
  2. "All the Above!" Top Shelf build here!
  3. Welcome to a very busy forum! If you start a thread, featuring your pickup build, you'll get all kinds of tips and suggestions, and most likely your questions will be answered. Jump in, and have fun!!
  4. Great rescue of a very nice looking Merc! I have a 1960 rebuilder convertible kit in the stash that I hope to get to, maybe next year!
  5. DITTO!!! My favorite version of the Vette, too! This is a stunning example you have, here!!
  6. PM sent.
  7. Very well executed build! Subtle colors...subtle take on some huge wheels. Look like factory wheels on steroids! TOP SHELF!!!
  8. You guys are WAAAAAAAAY older than me!!! I'm only 64!! Been stickin' these things together since 1963.
  9. How about a Hudson, or Studebaker pickup?
  10. Those look pretty darned good!! Nice pair of stable mates!
  11. Moebius has been good about tossing things at us that haven't been done before. I'd like to see them continue those methods and issue some mid 60's Dodge or international pickup kits.
  12. I kinda got lazy, and didn't want to convert to a dual exhaust....and I really didn't even think about it having the two carbs at the time. HAHAHA
  13. As a lad...model kits were sold EVERYWHERE!!! And there were so many annual kits to choose from, it took me a while to pick which one to spend my 'ALLOWANCE' on! Now, finding model kits requires a drive in the car, or an internet connection! And, annual kits are unheard of. But, back then, there wasn't much in the way of aftermarket parts, be it resin, or photo etch, or turned metal parts from a mini lathe. Today, I try to use a modest amount of aftermarket stuff to enhance what I build, even if I'm the only one that will ever see it! LOL And, a lot of that is due to the consistent purchase of the modeling magazines down thru the years, and joining the many forums that have come and gone, too.
  14. I'm doing the exact same thing with my stash. I had over 850 unbuilt kits when I started listing them on eBay. Now, I'm way down to 825!! Got a ways to go. I bought them with the intentions of building them all, but that's not gonna happen at 5 or 6 builds per year! LOL
  15. One thing I kinda wish I'd spent more time on is the hinge for the trunk lid. I'm not totally happy with the way it operates. Maybe on the next one, eh? LOL
  16. This is the Model King issue I had: No pickup parts in this kit, just the camper, and car hauler parts.
  17. Thanks for the comments! I hadn't thought about the Bentley look when I was flogging about on this one! LOL I went through several two-tone combinations before I settled on these two colors.
  18. Thank you, Bill! The AMT '49 Mercury seems to be a nice kit.
  19. Fantastic job on this mid-size MOPAR monster!!
  20. That's a great idea!! I recently rummaged thru about four of my parts bins searching for two that matched! Finally found a pair the same size, with the same engraving on them!! LOL While they're at it....they could add some photo etched bezels to go with them!
  21. Notice it doesn't say "Authentically", "Realistically", or "Faithfully" reproduced. HAHAHAHAHA Of this generation of Chevy pickups, the '72 was always my fave. But, as far as the model kits go, I'd like to see them backdate it to a '67-'68 version.
  22. Very cool Mack, sir! Well done!
  23. Very nice job, Tim!! What shade of purple did you put on this one?
